We booked this room a year in advance with three people. Called to add a child and was told no problem. Checked in at 9:00am and asked again about adding a child to the room. Again, was told no issue and that they would even “upgrade” our room for free. Left for the day see the sites and came back to get our keys.
Magically, a new person was working the front desk and wouldn’t give us our room because we had four people. He told us it was a fire code. We had to leave at 7:30 the next morning to get in a cruise so we were completely stuck. They offered us another room for 190 euros!! We had no choice at that point and had to pay for the additional room.
When we checked out they charged us a hotel tax of an additional 22 euros. Even though I booked through Hotels and all taxes were supposed to be included, we were still charged!
To make matters even worse, when we grabbed breakfast in the morning, two employees saw our name and that we had to rooms and started laughing about the incident in whispers. They didn’t know realize that I understood Italian and heard them bragging about getting us to purchase another room.
The hotel is clean, but I would not recommend it to any families.
