My spouse and I lived in the neighborhood, down the street from this hotel, for two years before moving to the US. We recently came back to Korea to visit for the first time in a year and chose this hotel because it was familiar to us. Though we lived nearby, we never stayed with them, and I'm so happy that we made the choice to do so as we came back for a visit!
The staff was kind and understanding (especially when I wanted to use Coupang and needed to make sure I had the address correct!) and the facilities are clean and efficient. Housekeeping is quite serious about doing their job well and makes sure that you have all that you need to be comfortable. The hotel also has great facilities, such as a pool, gym, and a small laundry room. Though, one of my feedback critiques is that the laundry room is cash only and the change machine was broken when we were there, so we had to get change at 1 AM from the front desk 😅.
As someone who used to be local, I can tell you for sure that the location is amazing! Gongdeok is a great and modern-style station with touches of traditional restaurants (if you know where to look). If being able to access public transportation easily is what you seek in a place to stay, Lotte City Hotel Mapo is perfect for that too. It's nestled on Line 6 and Line 5, which is great for traveling to popular spots in Seoul. The bus stops outside the hotel are also convenient!
Lotte City Hotel Mapo is a wonderful option for anyone looking to stay in Seoul!
