This particular Bishops Arms feels as though it isn't quite convinced that it's a hotel. There is no reception - one engages the attention of one of the staff in the bar. Once checked in however, the room is perfectly adequate, and, as it turned out, acceptably quiet, given that there is a pub downstairs and it was a weekend. Breakfast is fine (can't speak for the cooked food as we didn't sample it). There is carparking, but it isn't free.

Hotel itself is fine. However, let down by the 4 pm check in time which is not great. The doors are locked until 4 pm so if you arrive before this and it is raining you get wet. There needs to be a way to check in before this, and be able to drop off your bags. It is more of pub than a hotel. The hotel has a life but it is very hit and miss to get it to start and sometimes it stops between floors. The room was fine just let down by check in at 4pm and no way of dropping off your luggage prior to this.

The room was spacious! Our only complaint was that the room was very warm. We had also arranged for a breakfast on our day of departure to be available as we left at 630 am. The staff they would prepare something but there was not anything

Convenient location. Comfortable beds. Little confusing about hours of operation and access. All doors locked after 10 pm & not open until after 4pm. Nice morning breakfast. Nice pub open after 4 pm. Excellent experience!

Everything was fine except the bar / restaurant shut at 10pm (11pm on a Wednesday) but when trying to get a drink twice in the four nights there a good 5-10 minutes before closing, we were told they were already closed and would not serve us.

Great hotel in a lovely, quaint Swedish town!

The hotel was clean, staff was very friendly. The surrounding areas of Strängnäs and Mariefred were beautiful! Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others traveling to the area.

Everything was closed

Everything was closed. We got a code to come in and another code to get the key to our room. This is not a hotell, only place to sleep. When we booked there was no info that the restaurang, reception, the roof top spa that everything was closed. This was a big disappointment, money spent on nothing. Will probably use another booking site next time.

Hotel in central strangnas

I felt that this place really over- charged for what you receive-the front desk staff on arrival were not overly friendly and you get the impression they don't really care where you're from or anything, just want your money-however the kitchen staff in the morning were friendly and the breakfast was average- the cereals and fruit were the best part, but I would stay away from the watery scrambled eggs and burnt/oily bacon. On my first night I took a shower and no-one told me that if the pressure is too high it will spill onto the floor so the whole bathroom floor was flooded and I had to use my 1 towel to mop it. Also the heating was inadequate even when you turned the radiator right up, I had to wear 2 layers of thermal clothes and socks and they said you could ask for an extra blanket as the duvet was really thin but i got the impression that they would charge you for that the temperature was between 6-9 most days. Also they don't warn you that the walls are really thin and that you hear every noise ( doors shutting, talking, footsteps- which made the floor vibrate) the person in the room next to you makes as well as your bed head board is directly behind theirs so every time each of you moves in the bed it is felt through the wall by the other person,I had to move my bed away from the wall and use ear plugs to get sleep, which helped a bit but didn't get more than 4 hours sleep a night, I just think that charging high prices for this is unjustified,wouldn't stay again
