It is a good hotel for a night. We did not use the pool but the room was fine. It was clean and spacious but there was some noise through the evening. It is not super convenient for downtown and nice restaurants

Meh

The continental breakfast was the highlight, lots of options. However, the room was extremely crusty and kind of falling apart. The shower had black stuff growing around the tub, there was a granola bar wrapper on the floor when we entered the room and it definitely wasn’t ours. The old kleenex holder was falling out of the wall and old no longer used shampoo/conditioner holders in the shower should be removed. The air conditioner was really loud when coming on/off through the night. Our room was on the 1st floor at the end of the hallway near an exterior door which was really loud as people went in/out during the night. The price was inflated for tourist season, it’s certainly not worth the $210 we paid.

The floors/carpet were filthy, we didn't dare walk bare foot, we had to keep our shoes on, the beds were very old and very "soft". We had to park in the back and walk to the front, in doing so, we discovered a side door that doesn't close properly, so just anyone would be able to enter at anytime, we did, the door had been bent a bit. My husband has breathing issues, so having to park at the back and walk all the way around was pure torture for him. I will say, the staff was nice in front and the breakfast was standard/normal and it was good. This place needs to be remodelled and looked after, whom ever is in charge now is not doing their job. I used to work at a Travelodge many years ago in Saskatoon, and the rooms never looked like these, the bedding didn't even fit properly. We really wasted our money on this room, but we were tired and had been on the road all day, we even stayed out late so we didn't have to be in the room.

REASONS WHY YOU SHOULDNT BOOK THIS HOTEL. 1. You don't want to take your shoes off in your room because the floors are DISGUSTING. 2 . The walls in the rooms are covered in....who knows... 3. bedding stained 4. Found empty oxycontin pill capsules on the floor......actually my one year old found it.... 4. Food was disgusting..... 5. Not worth a penny they charge 6. the property grounds are covered in cigarette butts and garbage...... Honestly ... I could go on but that should be enough

Pooly managed

There were a lot of issues we had with this hotel. It was quite run down even for the "renovations" they did. We had no hot water for a shower in the morning, the room for breakfast was extremely hot, we used the laundry facilities, we had our laundry locked in the room for a couple hours because the only key was with a maintenance that was not on the premises and the wifi was so weak we could not connect. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was good but overall I would not recommend this hotel.

Avoid this hotel at all costs. This was the most penny pinching hotel we have ever stayed at. When you first walk into the lobby, you will get the impression that the facility is newly renovated and clean. Don’t be deceived as it is just for show, the management splurged on the lobby instead of rooms and amenities. The rooms have not been properly cleaned. The first room that was given to us had dirty sheets tossed onto the TV cabinet and no towels in the washrooms. The second room we were given had a dirty carpeted floor with many stains that was evidently not cleaned properly. You can hear voices from the other room. Breakfast is very basic but better than nothing. Water pressure is good. Staffs are very polite and friendly, that’s the only positive thing about this hotel. I hope these staffs are getting paid justly.

Disgusting nasty hotel. I want a refund!

I am a customer who stayed at the Travelodge located in North Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada. My itinerary number is :72064815021769. I am concerned about the state of this hotel. It smells of mold, the carpets smell and are full of stains. The bedding is so thin that it's see through. There is visible mold in the fridge. The wallpaper is peeling off. The walls are visibly dirty and in poor condition. The sink had hair in it upon arrival. The tub is so stained and filthy that my kids showered with their sandals on. I am requesting a refund of my recent stay. They also charge $250 for a damage deposit. I've stayed at many hotels this year in various cities/ towns, and this is by far the worst hotel when it comes to what you get for the price you pay. The photos are deceiving. There were no other vacancies in Sydney at the time otherwise I would of left but could not as I had small children and my elderly mother with me. I have a large body of colleagues who are healthcare workers of many professions, and I will not be able to recommend anyone to stay here. This hotel has a lot of customers as the Marine Atlantic Ferry is the only way to get off the island of Newfoundland other than flying. They should not be charging in the $200+ range for such a dive of a hotel. As they get many customers, they should be investing a larger portion of their funds back into the upkeep of the hotel itself.
