4 day stay over Xmas 25 visiting relatives. Best value hotel we could find in the area. It is close to the A44 motorway and on a fairly busy main road but the (ground floor) room was quiet and peaceful, the traffic noise not noticeable. Staff happy helpful and friendly. Everything was working, well maintained with large TV, wifi, free parking. King size bed enormous and comfortable. Good value dinner one evening. We did not use the billiards pool room or the outside terrace. Generous times for checking in/out, breakfast and on site dinner. Relaxed friendly atmosphere.

Very nice place, a bit off the beaten track. We chose it because of proximity to friends. The only drawback was the placement of electric sockets. The only ones convenient to the bed were in the middle of the headboard, making their use quite awkward.

Beautiful stay near Leiden central and 50mins away to Amsterdam by train. i was fasting during my stay and hotel made a lunchbox for me to eat and was really good with lots of options. overall room was very comfortable and reception are very helpful!

Jade, (Assistant Manager) was courteous, accomodating and very helpful! From check-in to prep for an early morning check-out and various requests in between, she was my 'go-to' person. I appreciate her time and effort to making my stay go well.

I stayed here for one night. The location is a little out of town, although it looked easy to get to by bus and was actually a pleasant walk. The main problem with the location is that there aren't many restaurants nearby and most were closed by 8pm. The hotel does offer dinner, but bizarrely not at the weekend. The bed was comfy although narrow. The bathroom felt very cramped, but the shower was pleasant.

Nice hotel

The bastion hotel is amazing. The breakfast was good and the coffee machine is available every hour for guests! The staff is super friendly and English speakers. The only problem that I had was the mattress stiffness that was so soft that I am not used to it. Strongly recommended!
