I recently had the pleasure of staying at this charming hotel in the heart of La Riola, and I can’t recommend it enough! The location is perfect, allowing easy access to all the nearby wineries. Waking up each morning was a delight, serenaded by the enchanting songs of the Koo Koo owl, complemented by the gentle sounds of church bells ringing in the distance. The hotel itself is immaculately clean, with a lovely Dalit turning bed that provided a cozy atmosphere. The memory foam pillows and mattress were incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful night’s sleep. The complimentary breakfast was fresh and delicious, setting us up perfectly for the day. The air conditioning worked wonders, keeping the space cool and comfortable, and having an elevator was a huge plus when traveling with heavy luggage. The family that runs this hotel treats you like their own, showcasing kindness and authenticity that made our stay even more special. One of the highlights was the chance to witness their own winery operations—if you're lucky, you might catch a glimpse of wine-making firsthand! Additionally, the hotel serves as a beautiful wedding venue; we were fortunate enough to see a stunning wedding taking place during our checkout. We hold this family in high regard and have immense respect for their hospitality. We can’t wait to return to this wonderful place!

Loved our stay at this beautiful old palĂĄcio! The staff was very friendly, efficient, and helped me practice speaking Spanish. Our meal in their restaurant was wonderful - one of the best during our trip, including three Michelins.

We stayed over for one night travelling from Bilbao to Alicante. Daniel and his family were fantastic hosts, the hotel itself was full of character. We had dinner and it was superb, breakfast was continental with yogurts, fruit and pastries with toast and fried eggs if wanted, they were lovely. The juicer for the orange juice was great. On-site parking too. Our room was a suite but reasonably priced. I would go back again, I shall try on our return journey. Thanks Daniel

The room is part of an historical building completely renovated which resembles a castle. Very spacious room and clean. Breakfast is also very good with different options. The only drawback is that it was impossible to reach out to the hotel via phone or email! Restaurant is very good (but close on Sunday). Family business and friendly people managing the place.

This lovely gem is a few minutes away (by car) from Haro, which has many of the Rioja wineries tasting rooms. It is in a very small town, and our room was very spacious. Air conditioning, nice breakfast, etc. But you must drive to other locations. Perfect place for a peaceful night of rest!

This place has the wow factor

Lovely one night in a family run hotel, very tastefully refurbished in classic traditional Spanish style. We would stay again. Restaurant provided an excellent meal and breakfast was substantial.

It was like living in history! The service was absolutely amazing The food was well prepared and a smile and kindness of the staff was better than encountered in places costing 5 times more !! We already told them we will be back next year

A gem in the Rioja Wine Region

Beautiful and renovated XIth to XVIth century privately managed large house. Beautifully appointed large rooms adorned with spanish tiles. Very large bedrooms (plenty of space for luggage). Large King size bed. Very modern and updated bathroom with great spa-style shower. Fantastic and friendly English-speaking staff. Very good breakfast served in large dining room. Great views of the peaceful and quiet Spanish countryside. Plenty of space for secured parking as property is gated. In the heart of very small quiet village of Zarraton. Not much in the village though but a short drive from the great wine town of Haro. A must stop. Very highly recommended if you are visiting this region.

C'est un Ă©tablissement plein du charme de cette demeure ancienne. La dĂ©coration est dĂ©licate, et de trĂšs beaux azulejos dans les parties communes enchantent. Notre suite Ă©tait spacieuse et joliment amĂ©nagĂ©e. Le dĂ©jeuner se prend dans une salle lumineuse et propose des pĂątisseries maison. Si je devais faire 3 remarques, je dirais qu'il manque dans la chambre Ă  minima une bouilloire pour pouvoir se faire un thĂ© ou un cafĂ©. Qu'il est regrettable de ne pouvoir lĂ©zarder le matin au lit, tirĂ©s du sommeil par des jardiniers armĂ©s d'un coupe-fil et d'une souffleuse, tous deux thermiques, donnant l'impression d'ĂȘtre soudain projetĂ©s dans une course de moto-cross ! Enfin, le restaurant, fort agrĂ©able et prĂ©sentant une carte bien pensĂ©e, dispense une sorte de coulis musical lĂ©nifiant Ă  la Clederman en continu, qui gĂąche un peu du plaisir de la bonne chĂšre.

A place to enjoy

Wonderful place to stay. Such a historic building with old furnishings. Old fashioned but the bathroom was fresh and modern. We had dinner in the restaurant and it was delicious. The wine list was impressive . Breakfast also very good. Situated in a small village close to Haro. Not much to do in the village except enjoying the hotel and restaurant. We enjoyed to stay here very much.
