Was well located and easily walkable to the Amsterdam Central Station and much of the inner-canal areas. Lots of dining choices nearby. All in all was a nice place to stay!

Great Location

I have traveled to Amsterdam numerous times. This time as a 70 year old man. For me, now, I prefer a more comfortable stay. The location is ideal. The room borders on being small since we had to layout our two suitcases on the floor. The bathroom is adequate though small and the shower is small. If location is important this location is great.

Best Western Dam Square was a great choice for us in Amsterdam. Typically, we try and book into a local hotel (vs chain) This BW is unlike any north-American hotel... and is definitely a great hotel to stay at in Amsterdam. It's location "(10 min walk to Central Station) is great. It is also a unique, old building, along a typical narrow cobblestone street. Amazing shopping and restaurants are immediately accessible. Staff were friendly and helpful. The available breakfast was very good, with good variety. Our room was very comfortable and had everything we needed! So happy to have stayed here!

Police had access to hotel blocked off for 6 hrs. It was getting near dark so we had to book in with another hotel. Their was some discussion with best western on if the were going to charge we for a no show night but in the end they decided not to charge us. Other than that the stay was nice. Good location with several good restaurants near by and tram access was good

Disappointing

The room size and location is ok. I was not happy with the facilities. Even though i was on the first floor there was a dangerous step when you entered the room which i tripped on as by the time you switch the light on you could not see the step. View out of the window terrible, and felt i was in the basement, there was pigeons nesting outside all the time making noise. During the night there must have been a pipe running through the room and there was pipe noise continuously and had to wear ear plugs to sleep. Room quite dark. I had to move the light fixtures in the room to make it brighter. Breakfast was ok, nothing special. My total disappointment was when i had to have a meeting online at 12 pm and sat in the restaurant in a corner table and they came to remove me in a rude way as they said they were going to mop the area…while the cleaner was actually on her phone since i went there..they moved me at the entrance of the hotel which was not really ideal to have a meeting as i wanted a quiet area. This is not a suitable hotel if you travel for business…

Fantastic hotel

We had booked a double room but when we arrived we were upgraded to a suite. The staff were lovely, friendly and attentive. Breakfast has a great selection to start the day. Everything was very clean and tidy. Bed very comfortable. Close to Dam square and easy walking distance to shops etc. Would definitely recommend.

Great location

Lovely hotel just off Dam Square and only a short walk from central station. Seamless check in and room was good size. Breakfast was continental and limited but did us ok. All staff very pleasant. Bear in mind if you are getting taxi transfer that it cant leave u off right at door as on a pedestrian side street
