Paid close to $500/night for our room. Definitely, the room wasn't even close to a $500/night room. The property wasn't full either. I've stayed in Hampton Inn's with as good or better rooms...regularly.
Walls are paper thin. We had a screeming baby in a room next to ours all night. Obviously, the screaming baby isn't the hotel's fault but the paper-thin walls are.
It was a decent stay; just way too expensive. The Gaylord is a great place if your attending a convention. Other than that, and the waterpark, not a lot to do but walk around a massive place. If you want to shop for toys, clothes, and house goods, well, then this may be a resort, but other than that, what does it offer?!
The water park is great. It made the stay enjoyable. However, since we checked out, I parked at the water park only to be told I couldn't park there and I'd have to go back to the Gaylord, pay for a full day of parking there, and then shuttle back to the park. Fine. This is what I did. Wasn't a big deal until I found out that plenty other families parked at the water park.
Just way too expensive for what you get, which isn't much unless you're enamored with large places. Oh, the property art is nice.
