Avoid this hotel

The hotel as a whole was fine and in a decent location, but we had to wait four hours for check-in. All we were told was the rooms weren't ready but they would be "soon" and they would call us. And they did...four hours later. They did offer to hold our luggage, which was the absolute least they could do. And, in fact, that was all they did. They barely apologized and didn't compensate us in any meaningful way for the delay. I think we got a $2 off coupon for the restaurant, which is not sufficient in my view. Everyone we interacted with aside from the front desk was really nice, but it's clearly just really understaffed right now so I'd avoid this hotel unless you want to waste your time.

There was a reservation problem at my check in due to a lack of communication between Expedia and the hotel. The check-in staff member worked hard to resolve this fairly quickly even though the hotel was extremely busy.

Valet was not good— after several hours drive we arrived at 4;00 pm only to be told “ we won’t have valet until 6:00”. What? What’s the point of having valet if it doesn’t work? She offered no help regarding self parking. Said every garage around there was full. Not a great way to start a trip.

Convenience plus plus!! The hotel is attached to the conference center (Glass City) that I attended. Valet staff was fantastic! Restaurant (Assembly Brasserie) had great food. The staff bent over backwards to let us preorder so we could be back for our evening speaker. My room was spacious and clean with a great view of the river. I had an all around five star experience at this hotel.

Disappointing. When we arrived there was no valet available nor a room. We had to sit parked on the sidewalk in front of the hotel for over an hour before valet was available. Check in was at 3pm yet we were not assigned a room until 6:30pm when I went back in to ask how much longer it would be because we were still waiting in our vehicle. I was told I would get a call when a room was ready but never received a call so went inside at 6:30pm. We had dinner reservations at 7pm. We we not able to change or freshen up prior to our dinner which was very frustrating. When Expedia called to see if I could get a discount due to our situation the hotel told them no because we completed our stay. WHAT WERE WE SUPPOSED TO DO? CANCEL AND DRIVE BACK TO HOME?? The fact that others were told they would receive a discount and I’m being told I will not receive one to me is unfair. If this is the way this hotel does business I won’t ever stay here again. That’s just WRONG. I guess I should have yelled and became belligerent like others did. I guess that’s why they got discounts and I didn’t. This hotel needs to do the right thing!

Unacceptable to say the least

We arrived 2 hours after we were told we could check in. Linens were backed up so we were told it would be a while before we could check in and that they would call us. 2 more hours go by and no call, so I check in with the desk. They tell me our "room is ready" give me keys. I go up to the room after having to park 4 blocks away and walk in the rain to find there someone already in the room we booked. We WALKED IN ON A COUPLE IN THEIR ROOM! Not ok! Back down to the front desk where I'm pushed off over and over until I demanded an update on when I would finally get to check into the room I already paid for! Finally they put us in a room completely different than we booked and we checked in somewhere around 9:00 PM. I am beyond upset at the lack of communication and the way things were handled by the front desk. I am a very calm and easy going person who understands things happen! The men at the desk were very overwhelmed and the hotel was very understaffed. There was excuse after excuse to issues that should/could be fixed by proper management and customer service. We are all held to certain standards at our places of employment and this hotel should be no exception. I hope that I am contacted directly to for at least an apology, however by expectations of the Hilton brand are now much lower than before.

The hotel itself was very nice, modern and from the areas we were in seemed very clean. The check in process was very long. Should have had more staff to assist. We came down with friends that were not able to get into their room until close to 7:00pm, not sure if there was not enough cleaning staff available but that should not happen.

Front desk was under staffed. Checked in at 7pm. Told us room was not ready! Checkin is at 3pm & the room is still not ready!? I made a stink & ended up getting a room in a few minutes. Was really off put by this. Stay was great though. Hung out on the steps with friends & at & drank our night away!

The property and the price were good, clean, and as expected. We had been out riding bikes on an 85 degree day desperately in need of showers before moving on to our planned afternoon/evening indoor activities. Instead of getting to check in at 3, we had to wait until after 6 (like many families that day) to get access to our room and shower. Kind of tied our hands preventing us from doing other things.
