all the hotel employee staff were very friendly and supportive! Rooms are clean. if you are in Level service, better to arrive when guest relation staff are still on duty (5pm)

We just returned from our stay at the Melia Casa Maya. We were nervous due to the numerous poor reviews of the resort. We had a family of 4 with a 5 year old and a 7 year old. The good. The resort was beautiful. The pool was clean and great for kids. The beach was sugar soft sand and the water was crystal clear and calm, which was great for the little kids. The room was amazing. (We had a 1 bedroom suite, which gave us privacy as the kids could sleep in the living room) The ocean view was incredible. The waterpark was absolutely amazing for the kids. They loved it and spent a great majority of their time on the slides. Cons: The food... The food at the cafe during lunch was decent, but that's pretty much where it ends. The Italian was edible, but that's about it. The seafood restaurant was decent. The dinner buffet was borderline inedible. We have traveled to Mexico around 20 times, and this was probably the worst buffet I have ever encountered. The breakfast buffet was good. This is the first time we have ever considered leaving the resort to eat somewhere else for dinner. Overall, I would give the resort a 8.5 out of 10 if you are traveling with small children. It's not an upscale resort, but great if you have small children. If they could fix the food issue, I would have no complaints.

We had booked the suite and it was massive, probably one of the biggest suites I have stayed in. The vegetarian options at the lunch and dinner buffet on some days were very limited.

I usually am ready to go home at the end of vacation, but this experience I wanted to stay longer. The staff were amazingly friendly and so helpful. The food was delicious and fresh at both restaurants and the buffet. Our boys truly enjoyed all of the kids amenities, water park, and the special activities/games for the kids. The room was spacious and clean and we loved the location. We really liked that we could simply get on the bus and go sight seeing. What an excellent trip. We look forward to going back soon.

I just got back home after spending 7 nights at Melia Casa Maya with my husband and two small children. I picked this property because we had stayed at the Melia Falcon in Punta Cana DR and had excellent service and the hotel was top notch. I did not pay for Level status at the Falcon or Casa Maya. Casa Maya was a bit of a disappointment after staying at the Falcon in the DR. The service was so so bordering poor at times. At Mercado restaurant, I could eat my entire meal before my drink came. With the exception of Claudia and a few other staff, most of the employees were not very friendly or accommodating. The suite we stayed in was sparse , the minbar lacked snacks and it was difficult at times to get bottled water for our infant’s bottles. We ended up going to the store and buying water. Maybe the level status buys better service at Casa Maya? On the positive side, we enjoyed the water park and the beach was great for kids. Having a suite was helpful with two small children who nap. If I return to Cancun, it probably won’t be to Casa Maya. Casa Maya left me longing for the Melia Falcon in the Punta Cana. Overall, I rate Casa Maya a 5.5/10.

The service and hospitality is what really makes this place great. I’ve stayed at nice hotels that didn’t give us this type of service. When I spoke to client services about my issues with dining they immediately upgraded me to level so I could have a better experience. That in itself made the entire trip worth it and happier. I would definitely stay again. Great for families!! Shout out to Natanael genaro and Claudia! And the general manager

For a property that only reopened a couple months ago, I thought it was well-ran. You could tell not everything was renovated (bathroom sinks and showers) but what was renovated was very nicely updated. Overall we had a very good experience. Pros: - good for young kids - nice beach - easy check in check out - good buffet - nice facilities (public bathrooms, dining areas) - concierge available for booking excursions Cons: - not many dining options and you had to make reservations for dinner - furniture moving made loud noises since there is no carpet (mattered because my daughter still naps) - wish there was another bar outside since there were long lines

Our stay at Melia Casa Maya was excellent. The staff were extremely accommodating, welcoming and were very attentive. Everyone that we encountered offered professional and caring service. The facilities were clean and the food was delicious as well. We love that it was a calm environment, excellent for families or anyone looking for a calm vacation spot.

Victor was very accommodating at check in and Adrian was beyond helpful working on correcting our transfer to the airport. The staff was lovely and the hotel was clean. The beach was very close and the pools were wonderful. My children (7 & 8) loved the water park. The slides were fun for kids and adults. The big slides were slow enough for young children to enjoy. We enjoyed the nightly entertainment, the food and drinks. There were plenty of chairs at the beach and pool. The pool towels were large and fluffy. There was always plenty of food and a good variety. The property is smaller than most all inclusive resorts, which made it feel safe and convenient for families. We stayed in a suite with a balcony. The room was huge and clean. The beds were comfortable, the view was amazing and the suite was kept very clean.
