I am trying to obtain a refund for the 3 nights we did not stay at the Oakbrook Terrace comfort suites. I originally booked 4 nights, (11/25-11/28) but after our first night, I decided it wasn't safe to keep my family there. There was no security - the side doors were open and anyone could walk in off the street. Also, one half of the building smelled like marijuana. The property was not what I had expected. I went to the front desk and was told a "Manager" would contact me in terms of the refund. That never happened. I see 2 charges from you on my account. A $69 charge and a $236 charge. I believe the $236 charge should be refunded. I just called the hotel (again) directly and was told to email this email address. But I couldn't understand the gentlemen and not sure I have the correct email.

There were blood stains all over our room. The room in general was not very clean. The ceiling to the bathroom was falling apart. The front door to the room had big gaps so it let in a ton of light from the hallway at night.

I’ve stayed at this hotel several times, but this visit was the worst experience yet. The first room assigned to me smelled terrible. When I mentioned it to the housekeeper, she stated that all the rooms smelled like that. The bedding on one of the double beds looked as if someone had just gotten out of it. Instead of replacing the linens, the housekeeper insisted the sheets were clean and that the wrinkles were from the dryer. I pointed out that the other bed didn’t look that way, and she had no answer. As she continued smoothing the sheets, I noticed a pair of socks still on the floor from a previous guest. I was initially told there were no other rooms available, but suddenly they were able to “find” a different one and it smelled much better. To add to the frustration, I had booked 4 for nights. Due to severe weather, I couldn’t make it the first night, but I arrived early the next morning only to be told my room was probably given away becase I didn't come. 20 mins later, there was only one room left. It felt like a nightmare from start to finish. The front desk associate did try to be pleasant, but repeatedly telling me “I talk nice so you talk nice” was uncomfortable and didn’t reflect an understanding of what I was dealing with. It felt like a cultural disconnect rather than customer service. Overall, extremely disappointing stay, this hotel needs serious improvements in cleanliness, communication, and professionalism.
Bed and pillows looked like someone just got up and the other bed was perfect.
