The worst hotel in Illinois

The room smelled like a wet dog, the carpet was filthy and moist, the bed was hard and the breakfast consistent of oatmeal packs, bars, mini muffins and coffee. They discounted the room by 50% cause they couldn't move us due to them being full because of an event. I would never stay there again!

The elevator was broken/unserviceable for 2 days during our stay, so we had to use the stairs & carry our luggage up to our room on the second floor which was a slight inconvenience The cable in our room did brocade local Chicago Cubs baseball games during our stay, which would have also been nice to watch especially since the hotel is so close to Chicago.

Classic case of an outdated hotel asking for modern prices. Dirty toilets , missing doors on cabinets and rigged up outlet fixtures. The list can go on and I wish I can post the pictures i took!!!!!!!

Spooky Misadventure at the Extended Stay America

My toilet did not work, I consulted a handyman there. He suggested I jiggle the handle to activate the ages old system. To which he followed with- ‘I hope it works out for you because I will not be here over the weekend so,’. I have no qualms against this man particularly. He was kind and informative and every worker deserves a break. My issue is with the fact that they have no back up handyman to help guests when the main one is gone. My toilet never did flush. I had to take off the lid to manually enable the flushing mechanism. The room was dated and reeked of smoke. There were no toiletries available besides a bar of soap. No amenities offered either. My lights were mostly out in my room. I opened the cabinets to find no cooking utensils nor cutlery. Pillows were flat. Sheets were itchy. Breakfast was merely a small muffin and a granola bar. My bathroom door’s hinges were held together by an old, bent up screw driver, with the tip pointing outwards. God forbid, you slip in the bathroom, fall and accidentally lobotomized yourself on the way down. Or at the very least lose an eye. That is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Absolutely unacceptable and a clear disregard for the guests safety. When I arrived at 2:47 they told me I could not even check in until three P.M. because they weren’t sure which rooms were clean yet. On Saturday night, the parking lot was filled with law enforcement. Apparently a domestic violence incident occurred. Lastly, the fridge was leaking on the floor

I was trapped in the elevator for 20 minutes. The staff was rude and inconsiderate. The description of breakfast included should be removed. There was dried ketchup or something on the wall.

The light didn’t work by the bed. The bathroom sink only dripped out when on hot. Bathroom door had a giant hole in it.

Title: Worst Hotel Experience – Discriminatory Staff and Unwelcoming Environment I’ve stayed at several Extended Stay America locations and always appreciated their comfort and value, but my recent stay at the Burr Ridge location was by far the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had, anywhere. From the moment my girlfriend and I checked in, it felt like the entire staff had already decided we didn’t belong there. We both have tattoos and piercings, but that shouldn’t mean we deserve to be treated like criminals. Throughout our stay, the staff constantly watched us, making us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. It was as if they were actively looking for any excuse to get us in trouble or kick us out. One female in particular, seemed determined to catch us doing something wrong, even when there was no reason for suspicion. The anxiety from being profiled and harassed by the staff ruined what should have been a relaxing week. At no point did the manager step in to address the situation; in fact, it seemed like she encouraged this behavior. I felt like we were being punished simply for how we look. To be fair, a couple of my friends were caught smoking in the hotel room, but neither my girlfriend nor I were present at the time. Despite this, we were treated as if we were guilty by association, even though we had nothing to do with the incident. I’ve never felt so unwelcome or unfairly judged at any hotel, motel, or Airbnb. If you value being treated well stay

Check in was a breeze. Advertisement for rooms - the pictures aren't exactly accurate. I have no complaints since I only stayed 1 night. There's an old cigarette smoke odor in my room. Building could use a little TLC. Other than that it's great for the night and the price.

Decent hotel for the money

Quiet hotel. New tvs which were nice. Was told beds were new, thet were somewhat hard. Most of the staff was very pleasant.
