Very Pleasant Stay!

Rooms were a little small, but otherwise excellent. Quiet, clean and everything worked. Rooms were very well lit. Cafeteria was very good. No need to go into Chinle to try and eat. Not much in Chinle to begin with. Canyon tour was interesting and fun. All round great experience.

Good location to explore Canyon de Chelly

Good base to explore Canyon de Chelly. Offers Navajo guided canyon tours. Staff all very friendly. Room was spacious with 2 queen beds and a good sized dining table. Tiny bathroom. In room cups/glasses all disposable. On site canteen serves basic meals to guests and locals - another option is eat-in/takeaway from Chinle. On Navajo land, so no alcohol and no daylight saving (so 1-hr ahead of southrn Arizona in Summer)

Property is great. The area is sketchy but that’s how it is in Canyon de Chelley. There are only three hotels in town. Room is dated but clean. Restaurant on the premises was really good. Staff is five stars.

Navajo hospitality was wonderful, small gifts in room just one example. Best choice for a base while visiting Canyon de Chelly. We didn't syay lomg enough to bisit the on-site restaurant, maybe next time.

The staff were very friendly and helpful but the facility is elderly. I had s water leak in the bathroom. The restaurant is cafeteria style with so-so food. Basic and healthy but not inspired. Still, it’s either the Thunderbird Lodge run by Navajos or a chain motel. I would certainly stay at Thunderbird again. It’s also the closest to the entrance to Canyon de Chelly and has a much more attractive site than the hotel chains.
