Best Western the Westerley is well located in Courtenay. We found it very central for visiting with family in Comox or sightseeing in the area. There are lots of dining options in easy walking distance. Our room was huge, comfortable and clean.

Check-in experience felt a bit cold — no smile, and when I politely asked if our room might be ready (we arrived 1–2 hours early), I was met with a look that made me feel like I was being questioned for even asking. I was told it would be a $20 early check-in fee, which is fair policy-wise, but the delivery came off as a bit rude. Overall, the staff could be more welcoming to guests. That said, the stay itself was fine for one night, and the location was convenient

On several occasions the water supply to the hotel was turned off. This was especially frustrating on the day we arrived. As a result, we delayed our booking-in and stayed with relatives longer than we had anticipated which was an inconvenience.

The motel was out of water when we got there. I think they knew it would be out that day . I got the feeling because the help behind the cointer wouldn't say why it was out. It did come back that same evening. I just tthank thay could have been more straight forward.

We had the pet room but the room had a wet dog smell. The bathroom had a mildew odour. The hotel indicated some option for some requests, such as, hand or body lotion but the receptionist simply said that they didn’t any. The best thing about the hotel was the grand lobby lounge with big comfy chairs and tables. We ordered a delicious pizza and had it there with our small dog. That was lovely.

A pool was advertised and there is NO POOL! If you want a quiet room, request a room with bathtub, the walk-in shower rooms are all on the main street and overlooking
