Horrible Sevice - Be prepared for rudeness.

Service was rude. I have been staying here several times a year for the last decade. It is going downhill. The check in staff is very rude. I was there early and checked in waiting on a room. No call for 4 hours. I then went back and stood in line for 30 minutes as I watched all the guests get room keys. When I got back to the front of line and was helped. No apology. They just ignored they did not contact me. And said next after giving me a key. The staff for Arkadia Grill was also rude. The Beach. Horrible experience the last two stays. This time it was even worse. I wen5 down early and asked for 2 chairs. I was to be as close to the beach as possible. Well, they place towels on the chairs to save them for groups of girls who the staff flirts with. For food and beverage it was even worse. Placed an order and then our server for the whole area disappeared for 90 minutes. Everyone around me had the same issue. Management never contacted me even though I reached out. Do yourself a favor. Stay at the Eden Roc next door (service always first class) or the Lowe’s. Or really anywhere else.

Overrated hotel. I like the nostalgia but it's way overpriced and they're too many service fees and extra charges. Will not be back. Lema of the check-in staff was the only bright spot

Not even CLOSE to a 5 star hotel.

My wife and I have been in an incredibly busy season at work so for her birthday, I wanted to surprise her with an incredible trip to Miami. We live in the desert now, but she grew up around beaches so the pictures of the Oceanfront suite was 95% of the reason I chose this hotel. I could NOT have been more upset. Please see the pictures below. We get into our room, that we paid a lot per night for- the “Sorrento Oceanfront Junior Suite.” Here I am trying to surprise my wife- you can’t even see the ocean. It was completely covered by trees. I was embarrassed and disappointed. We immediately went downstairs and said to Orville at the front desk “this isn’t what we paid for.” He said “Since you’ve already stepped into the room, we can’t move you tonight, but I’ve put notes on your reservation. Call us in the morning and we’ll get you moved.”We call in the morning and are told that there isn’t any record of our conversation with Orville the prior night and that the hotel is fully booked. He totally lied to us. Now I was furious because we had to wait another day- we’re now two days into our trip and still haven’t unpacked. LATEon the 3rd day they finally moved us & our vacation started. All they offered was a $75 resort crediT on almost $1600 for two nights and living out of 3 suitcases for 3 days. Everything was an up charge- if you want to get away from kids at the pool, be ready to negotiate day beds at the adult pool for $300 minimum. Service sucked. I hope a GM sees this.

We upgraded to a Ocean Front room with a balcony. The room was clean, large with plenty of space. And the view was spectacular. The staff by the pool and beach were on the money. Restaurants were awesome. A little pricey but good.

It is a 5-star. Beach and pool are amazing. but they did not provide coffee machine in the room. You need to pay for everything here which you usually get for free when you stay Marriott or Hilton. Overall it is a happening place.
