Clean room, at least, we had access to youtube and watched movies. In my booking, it says, Elite room but, ended up in a Standard room. The receptionist said, “it didn’t say anything in your reservation”, checked my receipt in the hotels app where I got the reservation by the way, and it was stated in the receipt. I did not say any, as I was already exhausted and wanted to rest, and my stuff were already in the room. Next time, don’t just booked your stay, verify!

They need to figure out their TV situation. Only have cable TV and youtube. The Cable was probably 75% news. The remotes have netflix on them but does not work. No way to just watch a movie. Or entertain kids. Needs better sineage for rooms whem coming off the elevator. We got lost looking for our room untill a cleaner directed us. Also seamed to be understaffed for checking in time.

We recently stayed at Hotel Halifax and overall had a very good experience, especially considering the major renovations currently underway. After booking through Expedia, we received a message informing us that several amenities—including the pool, gym, and restaurant—were temporarily unavailable due to ongoing construction. We would have appreciated knowing this before booking, as we had planned to use the pool and gym. In the end, it wasn’t a deal breaker since our stay was short, but it’s something future guests may want to be aware of. On the positive side, we were placed in a newly renovated room, and it was beautiful. The redesign is modern, clean, and very comfortable. The mattress, in particular, was excellent. During our first night, heavy rain caused water to leak from the exterior wall, which unfortunately flooded part of the room. Although this was unexpected, the staff handled the situation quickly and professionally—they immediately moved us to another newly renovated room, which was perfect. Despite the incident and the temporary closure of some amenities, we genuinely appreciated the professionalism of the staff and the quality of the renovated rooms. We can see the potential of the new Hotel Halifax, and once the renovations are fully completed, we expect it will be an excellent place to stay. We would definitely consider staying again in the future and look forward to returning once the upgrades are finished.

The hotel is under construction, which we were made aware of, being assured that the guest floors were complete and ready. Not the case. The rooms were completed, however the hallways were under complete construction during the day hours. Also, the hotel needs to seriously reconsider the design of the bathrooms. The door is a barn style sliding system that allows zero privacy, and is it is possible to see into and out of the bathroom through the gap between the door and the wall when the door is closed due to mirror placement. Perhaps an actual door would be preferable, the barn door system is also very clunky and loud, impossible to quietly close. Overall a disappointing visit, perhaps await accepting visitors until construction work is fully completed.
