Very bad experience, can understand bad English in French speaking areas, but can't understand a hotel that claims to be pet friendly and was discriminated against when I checked in with my Golden, the front desk had an extremely hard look on their face, I don't know if it was because I was speaking English or because I had my dog with me. Entered the room to find garbage in the fridge left over from the previous guest, charged a pet fee and not assigned a room where a guest with a dog should be. Drove here from Toronto and didn't expect such poor service and experience, don't come if you don't speak French.

We booked for a room with bay view, however we didn’t get a room with any view instead just an ugly roof. They told that because the room with bay view is under construction. But we paid more money for room with bay view. If we know this is the case we will just choose a regular room with a lower price.

I have traveled to every continent in the world, and this is one of the cleanest hotels I have been to. By cleanliness I am referring to the cleanliness of the floors, the curtains, the air quality, the washrooms, and everything else. As a person with many allergies, this place is one of the rare hotels who passed the test for me.

Left more tired than when I arrived. Watch out for the old bait & switch! Had booked a room with 2 queen beds. Was given a room with 1 bed and a pullout sofa. Immediately flagged to management and was told that they consider that 2 queen beds and flat out refused to switch us into the room with 2 queens that we had actually booked & paid for. There was no reason for that because we were there right at 4. Horrible sofa bed. Most expensive 1 hour sleep I have ever had.

When we checked in, we were told that our booked room has balcony, but not accessible now, and construction will start at morning 7:00 am which will be noisy. We asked if there is other room not noisy in the morning. Receptionist found another room for us but charged additional money. We think the room’s situation should be disclosed when we booked. And if upgrade room is because hotel’s reason, we shouldn’t be charged additional money for the upgrade.

Hôtel Baker is a thoughtfully updated historic property with modern touches and some character from its past still showing through. They’re currently renovating the lower level to include a movie theatre and arcade, which looks like it will be a fun addition. Our room was modern, clean, and comfortable, but after about an hour we noticed water on the bathroom floor from a leak in the room above. The staff responded right away — they checked the situation and offered us a new room. The only available option was smaller and in the older section of the building, but it was still fine for our needs. We appreciated the staff’s prompt attention and their offer of a partial refund for the inconvenience. Check-in service was excellent, and although our room wasn’t ready when we arrived around 4 pm, we were able to relax in the comfortable lobby and plan our activities. Beds were very comfortable, and we appreciated having a fridge and a Keurig coffee maker in the room. The hotel is in a great location — just a short walk from Rue de la Reine with its cafés, restaurants, and shops. One note: there’s no elevator, so you do need to carry your luggage up and down stairs — but the hotel is only two floors, and staff offered to help.
