Upon arrival, we were advised that the room we reserved was not available, they claimed to give us an upgrade to a better room, upon investigation we determined that this was not an upgrade, but just a similar room at the same pay grade. The room that was reserved with the kitchen was not available, and under the circumstances, I would have preferred to have taken a room that we regularly booked at this hotel, with an approximate $50 savings over the period of time that we booked, rather than a room that was not what we needed at this time. The room that we were given, was not an upgrade for the circumstances of this visit. This also caused us to have to put out more money for food due to not being able to use the kitchenette in the room we booked. I would appreciate receiving some kind of compensation for the inconvenience and excess money having to be spent during this visit for not having the room that we booked.
