The room we had was very large, but it had no windows. I have never stayed at a hotel without windows. Very creepy. Funny how they opted out of telling us that detail. We could not change rooms as they said that they were totally booked. We and our friends could not check in until exactly 3:00pm. We were about the 10th person to check in. Our friends said that they had to sit in the lobby until exactly 3:00 along with others to check in. Which is fine, but common sense says that not all rooms are ready at the exact same time. The paint was peeling off of the furniture, mirror and sink stand in the bathroom. There was mold in the shower. We heard noises in the drop ceiling and walls. Scratching and scurrying noises. We were really looking forward to staying at this historic hotel, but would opt out next time we are in town.

The room was very clean the staff was very oand courteous. The hotel had an excellent restaurant named Caroline’s with food that was very tasteful. The hotel had a very nice character.

We enjoyed the hotel and the people. The issue was with the temperature in the room. We were not able to adjust the temp. The room was overheated in the night. We would wake up 2-3 times in the night extremely hot. ? Not happy about this. We should have a range we can set it at, and the rooms should be cooler at night.

The check in was fair. It was hard to hear what the clerk said because she was mumbling and she was kind of rude. The check out clerk was much better. Beautiful hotel but our room had no windows, just a sky light. The room was very large and nice otherwise.
