Compare Golf Hotels in Historic Kailua Village

We stayed 3 nights and the Royal Kona is close to shops and restaurants. The property is showing its age and some areas are under renovation. Staff were helpful and baggage and valet staff were working their tails off.

The hotel is a nice confortable place very well located walking distance to restaurants and shops. I enjoyed the stay. It’s clean, coffee is so good, has a pool, air conditioning.

Excellent location. We could easily walk to shopping, food and the beach.

First thing I checked in and I had ocean front room and instead they gave me 2 floor room that the view was the first floor roof , I went to guest service and they did not help me at all , I had to request a manager to show them the view of the room I booked and the one they gave me , she then proceeded to help me and gave me the one I purchased, her name was Mailie , the beach in front of the hotel is used by locals and anyone , there is not exclusively like they show on pics here ,I fine to stay here but is way overpriced

Room was clean. Hot tub wasn’t ready the first day we arrived, but was ready the second day. Parking was difficult. We had to park one night in the front lot. The property is close to a variety of restaurants.

Amazing, unique property. Very much an "outdoor experience" as the house is extremely open to the outdoors having zero glass in the windows - just wooden slats. As such, no a/c - hot. And huge amounts of bug bites...all beds had mosquito netting, but it didn't work. Each of us had at least 50 bug bites by the end of the trip and were having to apply calamine lotion, etc. So, if you want an outdoor experience and don't mind not having temperature control and don't mind being eaten by bugs and chasing birds out of the house....amazing.
