Quiet and peaceful place! Beautiful architecture! Nice garden to relax. the Amtrak train station is in the backyard, relaxing environment for train spotting! they have a nice restaurant, although the vegetarian menu could be improved a lot!

This historic hotel had lovely courtyards and relaxing sitting areas, restaurant and lounge area where you could enjoy fine dining and a cocktail. Gift shop had beautiful jewelry pieces and unique gifts. Will plan on returning to this gem!

We love this place. The staff is nice, polite and very accommodating. It has the friendly atmosphere you want while travelling. The grounds are fun to wander in along with so much outdoor patio seating. The have a setup near the train stop for you to watch the trains if you like that sort of thing. It's location is close to the tourist part of town. We stay here every year. BTW - the restaurant has never disappointed us either.

Birthday overnight trip

We'd been to the hotel restaurant several times; this was our first time staying at the hotel. We love all the indoor and outdoor seating areas. We had a King balcony room and were able to relax out there before dinner. Halls were quiet - we didn't even hear the dog next door! Beds comfortable, bathroom towels were amazing. The soaps and shampoos smelled wonderful. Service and food in restaurant was excellent as always; make sure to order the squash blossoms and the signature soup.

A beautiful unique hotel with many common rooms, patios, and gardens. The architecture, furnishings, and artwork are amazing. It is a destination, not just a place to stay on the way to somewhere else. It also has an amazing gift shop, bar and restaurant.

La Posada is a treasure! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wish we could have stayed another night. My husband and I love trains so staying in a historic Harvey House was for us was a fabulous experience. The staff was quite friendly and accommodating, the building is something to behold, the meals at the Turquoise Room were exceptional, and they have an awesome gift shop with knowledgeable sales staff. The room was comfortable and nicely appointed with beautiful tile work in the bathroom and comfortable bedding. The TV unfortunately didn't work well, something we have noticed at a number of hotels that we've stayed at. I would have given everything 5 stars, but for a distinct foul smell that was coming from the bathroom when we in our room, like something died in the wall. We opened the patio door and room door and turned on the fans in the room and the odor seemed to have dissipated. We reported it to the staff and they said they would look into it.
