My sister and I booked a two-day getaway at Hidden Valley Resort, arriving on Saturday, June 7th, and departing on Monday, June 9th. While the resort itself was pleasant and the staff we interacted with were friendly, our overall experience was marred by significant issues with customer service and restaurant accessibility. Upon our arrival for the 4 PM check-in, we were looking forward to a relaxing stay. However, we encountered a major inconvenience on Sunday evening when we discovered that the hotel restaurant was closed due to a low number of guests. We were not informed of this closure in advance. Having already enjoyed some wine in our room, we were unable to drive to a local restaurant, and we had not packed any food, assuming the resort's restaurant would be available. We expressed our concerns about this situation, as well as some issues with our room, to the receptionist, Lana, upon our departure. She assured us that the Customer Service Manager would contact us to discuss our concerns further. Unfortunately, we did not receive any follow-up communication. My sister sent an email on Wednesday, June 11th, but still received no response. I called the resort on Friday, June 13th, and spoke with another receptionist who promised that the Customer Service Manager would get back to us that same day. This advertised as dog friendly - it is not. This advertised a restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner - it was closed the whole time (3 days) I was there. The place was empty and they put us in a noisy room by the laundry where there was a massive ceiling leak. There was a huge centipede in the bathroom. I would not recommend or ever go back there. Also, no elevator and we had to lug stuff up and down a lot of stairs.

The location was very picturesque. It was a very relaxing, laid-back site for a wedding reception, which was the reason for my visit. The location was also far from anything else, and so, all transportation had to be carefully pre-arranged.

The hotel was barely occupied and I got a dirty room facing the parking lot. Dusty floors, pieces of food and liquid stains on the nightstand and TV cabinet, paint chipped on the door, and an absolutely disgusting bathroom. I was too scared to shower in there. When complained to the front desk clerk, she apologized but didn't do absolutely anything. She pointed to the sign with an email address and told me to send my concerns to that address. Which I did. They tried to call me, but I wasn't able to answer at the time, and I emailed back asking for a written response instead. Heard nothing back. Absolutely unacceptable customer service. Not to mention, their breakfast wasn't included in the price, and I honestly was too disgusted to eat on premises. There were signs of neglect everywhere - from non functioning water fountain, to peeling paint, to musky odour in hallways, filthy fake grass by the main entrance etc I will never ever return there again and will discourage everyone I know from staying there. Oh, and the tennis and basketball courts looked disintegrated, abandoned and dirty. Nothing like in the online pictures.

Good and enjoyable stay

Front desk staff was too good especially a guy on the name of Lawrence was unbelievably good. Staff attitude in the restaurant was terrible. Better restaurant better service needed there.

Rock hard mattress, very restless sleep for those just wanting a relaxing get away. Cannot use the tubs in the room despite them being deep soaker tubs. No plugs for the bath tub. Toilet barely flushed because of what maintenance said was a slow fill tank. Took over 20 minutes for the tank to fill on the toilet. Pool deck was covered with huge water puddles and very dirty. Excessive charges for pool towels that aren’t returned. All in all I won’t be back.

The staff, Charlene & Richard, were excellent with customer service. Both answered all my questions politely. The pool and hot tub were disappointing. It was clear the facilities need upgrading and the hot tub had green algae (?) on the outer side of the tub. The wall paper/paint was bubbled. The room was clean, but again there was signs of neglect and/or need of painting/wallpapering.
