It was overall good experience to stay, the location is spurb, just less than a minute to Tram station, tourist vibe, Grand bazar, restaurant are nearby, once you're on the road by the tram line you reach Macdonald, or burger king in 5 minutes, Breakfast was included in our package but couldn't try it because stayed with kids and was lazy to wake up early - Room was clean and cosy , with facilities, you can make coffee tea or can grab drink from the small fridge with full stake of - free chocolate, drink etc , even they put new water bottles with after every cleaning service, I've very less interaction with the reception staff but i feel them polite and good -

Our stay wasnt that good as our room had no lights. We had to use the bathroom lights. Informed reception and nothing was done. On the description it says there will be bottles of cold water and an electric kettle in the room for teas and coffee but nothing was there. Dissapointed

Impressive service

Probably the most attentive, friendly, helpful staff I have ever seen in a hotel. The staff is extremely helpful and attentive to the guests needs. I love how charming the hotel is, but the best part was for sure the staff! The hotel is also located in a great area so people can explore the city walking or via the city trolley. I absolutely loved Istambul and I believe my experience was great and I know that had a lot to do with the wonderful hotel staff. They gave me ideas many times and told me what was the fastest, cheapest way to get around the city. My room was cleaned daily, and I appreciated my free water, with ice too! I was very impressed with my whole experience! Thank you Balin Hotel crew 😄👏

Excellent location, but it needs more cleaning.

We stayed for 3 nights. The location of the hotel is excelent, less than 2 minutes from Beyazit metro station. There is a mosque in front of the hotel, so if you need more silence, you can ask for a room in the back(no view). Beakfast was good, but you need to wake up early, 8AM is okay, 9 is too late. The hotel in general is in good condition, but it requires more cleaning and some small fixes . In the bathroom floor of the room that we stayed were small pieces of broken glass. The reception arranged to be cleaned on the following day, but it was dangerous as somebody could get a bad cut or worse. Overall we had good stay. 3.5/5

Not really happy...

Hotel was fine but rooms were not properly clean.the first day was ok but other days you would see staff on the floor for previous days.i even wrote that they must clean the floor. Bathroom They will enjoy the bin and wipe the floor if there's empties of shampoo or what so ever they will leave it there.if you left a cupboard open in the morning you will find it in the evening opened till you come back. Food Breakfast They will give a plate with cold breakfast that you can see it's yesterday's but it was on the fridge.they choose on what you eat sometimes

Don't waste your time.

Honestly there are so many places to stay in Istanbul, please don't feel like you need to pick this one. When we arrived, they couldn't find our reservation. They said they would have to see if there was a room available. We ended up waiting for 2 hours until someone checked out and they were able to get the room ready. I would have left except that the reservation was non-refundable and they has my credit card info. When we FINALLY got a room, it stunk of smoke. I tried to open the window and it fell on me. Other than that, everything was fine, but the above mentioned is enough for me not to recommend this dump. Beautiful city, stay somewhere else!

Perfect location for shopping

The hotel was decent, had a perfect location very close to the shops and as well as to the train and bus station. Wasn't very satisfied with the hotel cleanliness. Needs a renovation perhaps as well

A quaint hotel

This hotel was very nice and had a very helpful staff. It is also right across from the bazaar, which is always a good thing. The ONLY complaint, the beds are small and hard...and for two full grown men (father and son) it was a bit uncomfortable.

A VERY nice hotel. Rooms a bit small but everything else 100%. Great variety at breakfast (English & Turkish) and very filling - a good start to the day. Hotel 2mins walk from Grand Bazaar & very convenient to tram (called a funicular there.) Check-out 12pm. Luggage room to store bags if you're not going straight to airport. Smoking lounge looking on to road for smokers.
