I decided to try somewhere new after having a disappointing stay elsewhere for our last Jasper trip.
Tonquin Inn was a simpler, more affordable choice but I was extremely pleased with our overall experience. Check in was easy and simple.
I ended up seeing the night time security guard being briefed by the front desk on a few guests who required reminders to move their vehicles into front-facing into the stalls. Staff explained that due to some parking spots directly approaching rooms (motel style), backed-in vehicles would force vehicle exhaust into rooms while idling. This is a simple thing you agree to when you check in, and a few guests had still backed in with big trucks, and been already asked to move their vehicle. I appreciated that the staff dealt with difficult patron issues on behalf of the wellbeing of all guests.
Our room was simple but impressively clean. Attention had been paid to the bed itself and bedding, and we had an amazing sleep. I appreciated simplicities in order to make the stay more affordable, such as not having a microwave automatically in the room (available upon request if needed). I would rather have what I pay going toward quality rather than having every amenity.
I have no hesitation about staying here in the future and would recommend it to my friends.
