Positives: only a mile from the airport; free shuttle to and from airport and downtown: good food. Beautiful beach across the street that wasn’t crowded. Rooms were pretty nice; pieces of the property were tired (fencing, walkways) but not a deal breaker. Neutral: you will hear airport noise. This didn’t bother us, but you will occasionally get a rumble from a jet. Negative: not near downtown. We traveled with younger kids, so it was fine. If you’re looking for hustle and bustle of downtown, this isn’t your place. You’re only 2.5-3 miles from Duval St. They cleaned our room late in the day (after 3). We had to call and ask for sheets for pull out couch and more towels on the first night. Other than this, service was as excellent and staff was friendly. We will return.

Location to beach was great but the hotel is not in the beach and there are no hotel amenities for the beach. Just be aware. Otherwise it was great.

Cockroaches crawling all over the room at night. Terrible! I paid 1 month in advance for 3 rooms and the hotel held 5000.00 dollars on each of my children’s card even though the bill was paid. Their concierge ( Kevin) at the hotel over charges me and my husband 29$ dollars to take a baby on the hop on hop off bus at Key West!!! When we arrive at our tour, the tour operator taking the ticket was socked that we were charged for the baby when children from 0 to 4 are free. We had Christmas dinner that night at the hotel and the food is absolutely disgusting!! Fish was very dry. Also they charge a large extra fee everyday for amenities . 2 nights in a row the ping pong balls were broken therefore we didn’t get to use this amenities! They make you pay for the amenities even though you don’t use them! Hotel Rio off for the price! I will never stay there again. Beware if you change your reservation 45 days in advance they still will not give you back your money!

The resort offered many positive amenities for our family group of 6 adults and 3 children. It was nice having a refrigerator in the room and stocked with waters daily. The main desk staff was very polite, friendly and helpful. The food in the bar and restaurant was good and waiters very attentive. It was nice being across from the beach area and short golf cart ride to the activities on Duvall Street. The rooms were pretty clean, but the plug in air fresheners in the hallways were a bit overwhelming. There was a light out in the exterior stairway which made it very dark in the evening, and one of our children fell down the steps. We brought it to their attention as a safety issue, but it was not addressed during our 6-night stay. All in all, we had a great vacation and would return.

Many pros: friendly staff especially Levan at the bar, waitress Anita and front desk Chrissy and multiple drivers on the shuttles! Thank you again. Memorable decor. Bedroom suit layout is perfect. Location is awesome with close proximity to the beach, airport and downtown Duval St. Restaurant has good food and coffee with just enough variety to keep you coming back. Afternoon slushies were a nice touch. Beach sunrise priceless. mentionable cons: loud heavy metal doors that slam shut behind you. There should be a courtesy fee for guests to use the chairs and umbrellas at the beach. $50 a day is too expensive for 2 chairs and an umbrella especially when the pool area is crowded. Shallow Beach was clean but with little shade options.

From start to finish our stay at the Margaritaville was spectacular from the front desk, housekeeping the restaurant, staff, and the shuttle staff the over exceeded our expectations met all of our accommodations. We had a late flight on our last day and they left us stay on the property until it was time to catch our flight. This is my first time ever in the Key West and I am excited to book another trip. The sunsets were amazing. The food was delicious. The pool was refreshing. I couldn’t have asked for a better Christmas away from home. If you’re planning a trip to the Key West and you take the shuttle service, John and LuAnn were so amazing. John had a personality that could light up any room so kind very knowledgeable about the island and even gave us some great tips on where to eat. LuAnn was also very informative and told us her favorite places to eat, which made it nice because we had no idea what we were looking for then there’s bubbly Bob the shuttle driver to the airport. He was so kind and just had a conversation with us like he had known us for years. I can’t say enough great things about the staff. If you are planning a trip to the Key West, make sure you check out Margaritaville. The rooms are clean. The food was excellent and the staff was just amazing. I don’t think we will ever stay anywhere else when we come again.

Our room assignment was delayed at check-in, which was frustrating after a long journey. The front desk staff was not very helpful during check-in, and unfortunately the same staff member was present at checkout and appeared unprofessional by rolling his eyes. Cleanliness in the room was an issue—the room floors were very sticky, making it uncomfortable to walk around, even with shoes on. On a positive note, the food was good, the overall property was nice, and the easy access to the beach was a big plus. Overall, while the property and location were great, improvements in room cleanliness and front desk service would make the experience much better.
