Loved staying here - great location with a lot of food and walkable areas around. Room was surprisingly spacious and the amenities in the lobby were useful. Only minor complaint was the heat in the room, but thankfully the hotel staff provides fans.

Had a great stay at Hotel Gran Ms Kyoto! Had the most kind staff ever, who helped us collect our luggage after it was turned away by the convenience store we sent it to. They went above and beyond by contacting the Yamato Transport desk that our luggage was left at, and organising with them that we would go pick it up. This situation caused me a lot of stress and they gave me a lot of peace of mind! The location was easy to get to from the closest station and in an incredibly convenient and walkable location - rarely had to take a bus or train to get to restaurants and bars. The facilities were sufficient, however there is an odd step up into the bathroom via a small stool. The walls are quite thin and due to the location we could hear the street the whole night, however this was not a complete issue for us as its nice to fully immerse yourself in a city! Additionally, the cold did seep through the windows, making it cold when we woke up especially on the snow days but that was nothing the heating in the room couldn't fix.

Gran March Visit

Clean, quiet hotel. Walking distance to Sennansaka, Gion District, Pontocho alley, and Nishiki market. Sangyo train station made it easy to come from Kyoto Shinkansen station, and commuter train to Osaka.

Excellent hotel at a great price

Can’t believe the cheap nightly rate for such a lovely hotel. Everything was perfect and the staff are oh so friendly. Will definitely stay here again next time we visit Kyoto.

Clean room; friendly and efficient staff. Great location for visiting Kyoto. Only minor downside is that the room was a bit warm for my preferences, as the hotel centrally sets heat or air condition (and it was set to heat during my visit).
