A great place for families in Kyoto

A wonderful hotel in a quiet neighbourhood in Kyoto. Super family friendly and very well set up. Great to rent items like a rice cooker or iron, and to have the laundry room in the building. Staff were really friendly and helped us numerous times. Would highly recommend!

Super big rooms compared to every other hotel we’ve stayed in Japan. Had sofas and a dining table too! Reception staff so friendly and helpful. Sending bags was a breeze too! Their system is very slick compared to other hotels. Highly recommended especially if you’re with a family!

Good Choice

Solid stay. Our family of 4 had a room with 2 beds and then more of a ryokan style mat on the floor for the 2 kids. They were doubtful at first, but loved them after the first night and said they were comfortable. There is decent closet space and floor space, which tends to be a rarity in Japan. We liked the options for free rental like an Apple TV, a rice maker, and games. Pajamas are available in the lobby. Be aware that the nearest train station is a 10-12 minute walk away.

We stayed in the Pokemon room and my 9 year old loved it. He didn’t even want to leave the room. Even my 2 year old was all over snorlax. The room was clean, big and really good for family traveling with kids.

The hotel is around 15-20 min walk from the main area of Kyoto for food and shopping. It has a few local eats that are popular close by as well. It’s around 10 min away from this local bakery that has a best shrimp cutler bread that was very very good we had it 3 days in a roll. The rooms are very spacious and clean. Only down side is any closest convenient store is maybe around 5 min walk, which is not as close as some of the property I have stayed at Japan where convenient store is usually within the same block or downstairs. But Kyoto is very big and very spread out. This is an amazing property for group and family.

This was my first time staying in a Mimaru hotel. The staff here was very helpful and courteous. The hotel room was spacious and comfortable. The location was conveniently located to many nice local restaurants and combini’s. Definitely would stay here again.

Mimaru Kyoto was perfect for our family. Wakable to train station and having amenities like microwave and fridge was great. also the hotel room was very spacious and our girls love the bunkbed setup!

We loved our stay here. It is in a quite neighborhood and about 10 minutes away from subway to explore all of Kyoto. The staff was amazing and kind ! Highly recommend for families!

Ok experience it was hard to breath at night because the circulation was not good. Once we open the window it was manageable.Beds were not comfortable very firm. It was ok service was good and helpful.
