The Howard Johnson nice and clean and it's only a one-block walk to downtown. The rooms and lobby have recently been remodeled and most of them are away from street noise. The bathroom is spacious with great lighting but the room lighting in general is a bit too indirect and subdued. Oh, the lack of a lounge chair forced me to watch TV from the desk chair and it just wasn't comfy enough for that. But the overall quality is high and that's what matters most.

It's a parking lot view with the smallest room I have ever stayed. Pool not opened. Location is convenient if you like walking to everything in Lake George.
