I arrived to check in and there was a man speaking with the hotel staff. He was upset because his room card wouldn’t allow access to the breakfast area when he was told it would.keep in mind it was 7:50PM and he and the other parents were just looking for a place to socialize. He and the staff went back and forth for some time about the issue - she kept apologizing for the inconvenience but said management wouldn’t allow them to congregate there, etc. he began to get angry, calling her a liar. He began yelling at her about her lying and even said “god damn” at one point until she went and unlocked the breakfast area for them. I gather from the interaction he is here with a hockey team. When she came back, she was on the phone with her manager on speaker. I heard the entire conversation. Once she wrapped that up she was visibly upset but was not kind or polite with me and didn’t apologize for the wait or what I witnessed. It was extremely uncomfortable and did not make me feel good about staying. I feel for her, I do not feel that man should have treated her that way but she should have been professional enough to be friendly with me afterwards.
