The rooms need cleaning very poor cleaning. Bunk beds had tissues, red juice stains, on the table same red juice or something sticky on it. It looks like the room was never cleaned before we arrived. Other than that the hotel was great. Maybe allow food in the common area since it so expensive to eat out always

Very friendly staff and helpful. An ice machine would be ann amazing addition for customers on each floor! HOWEVER, the staff at the bar were very kind to give me ice every morning and sometimes throughout the day! I’d absolutely stay again and most likely will be soon! I attend school in Miami Beach and the location was perfect! Also, location is just a couple blocks from the beach! What more could you want! I loved it and the good outweighed the indifferent! Thank you!

There is no parking. You literally have to feed the meter every three hours. You must wake up at night to feed the meter. The shower had no door. Water got everywhere. Mold grows under the beds. Its gross.

Freehand Miami is a hidden gem, nestled in between high rise hotels. I loved the vibe, the building has a lot of character, with a funky/retro decor. The courtyard is amazing with a pool, garden, lounge areas and two bars. Freehand offers free use of their bikes, so it is easy to explore the surroundings and go for a ride on the boardwalk along the beach, which stretches for miles. Freehand is only a few minutes walk to the beach and there is bus and trolley (which is free) stops right outside the hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful, I felt they were very accommodating. It’s by no means a luxury hotel, but it offers a vibe that modern hotels lack. I travelled solo, so I stayed in a shared female room. The bunk was comfortable, the bathroom was clean and I met wonderful travelers from all over the world. I stayed for 7 nights and never felt unsafe. The lockers in the shared rooms are big, so my valuables fit without a problem.

This was my 5th time staying at Freehand Miami. You can’t ask for anything more closer to the beach for a fraction of the cost. Walking distance to shopping and free trolley transportation in front of the hotel. Visiting from Canada I prefer to spend money on experiences and shopping vs an over priced hotel. This is ideal for those who aren’t picky and don’t expect perfection. They have bikes, chairs and umbrellas to use for free. You can rent the entire quad room like my friend and I did or rent a private room. April, May and October are ideal times to visit. Not too busy and the weather is perfect and south beach water is warm. Thank you staff for all the help. Don’t forget about the happy hour! Amazing place to stay and I can’t wait to stay at Freehand Miami in October. Travel tip: we arrived at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. Took a bus to the Fort Lauderdale Tri-Rail station. Unfortunately train broke down so it was out of service. Ended up taking an Uber from the Tri-Rail station to Freehand Miami for $42 Canadian. That is less than half the price if we were to take an uber from the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood.

Cute place. Charming room. The air conditioner was really loud and ran all night. Very comfy bed and the robes were a nice added feature. The courtyard is lovely and very relaxing. I’d consider staying again for a quick trip with my husband.
