Location was great for being close to the cruise port. The heat did not work and it was freezing all night in our room. I turned the heat on only for the temperature to drop even more. The staff I encountered were all nice and friendly.

The condition of the property is quite poor. The toilet paper holder literally fell right out of the wall, leaving plaster and sheet rock all over the bathroom floor. Also, the bathroom has no ventilation. Secondly, this hotel is advertised as providing complementary breakfast and yet the continental is $30 for all guests and any other breakfast meals were also only on order.

The location needs to update the rooms the should be ashamed asking for that much a night. The rooms were dirty stank and major plumbing issues. After leaving the lobby each floor smells like a different level of disgust. The staff were friendly and tried to assist as much as possible. The pictures are not accurate. I had a late flight didn’t get in until after midnight; a small bag of chips cost $7 dollars. Overall a nightmare would not recommend. No one has done a review stating the truth but all the guest felt the same way.

This hotel was so dirty, it felt like you should be wearing your shoes when walking on the carpet in the room, it felt sticky. Paint was peeling on the walls. The door to the room only opened 50% of the time. The pullout was the most uncomfortable even my young kids complained about it and they will sleep on anything. I will never stay there again. The hotel lobby has been redone but that is it, its gives you a false senes of what to expect when going to the hotel. The only thing they have going for them is the location is great for cruisers. The staff were good though, it's not their fault the owners dont keep the Hotel maintained.

Ok for me, but not my family.

My room was fine. My only complaint is that the rooms do not have any USB ports. In this day and age with so many portable devices out there, this should not be the case. I traveled with family and their room was terrible. It was smaller than mine and their room was so bad that the manager gave them a full refund.

Smelled musty and needing to get a bit of a face lift. Rooms were smaller than we expected for the price we paid. I know it’s downtown Miami and there were many restaurants and shopping across the street, but when we return, we are going to get hotel a bit further away and uber or take a taxi to that area to shop, if we want to. We’ve stayed in Maui for about half the price with beach views at a fabulous resort. Cost for breakfast was expensive if you didn’t have a voucher. But portions were big, so sharing could be a great option.

My experience

Even though I paid in full and got trip insurance through Hotels.com at 2:30 in the morning of this last Day I was alerted by my bank that a $520 charge was applied to my account when questioned the clerk on duty said that this was standard procedure. After a 26 min debate he finally when faced with electronic evidence agreed to refund the charge which he stated would take at least 14 business days. In 14 days I will have completed my cruise and be back home. This hotel has a great location but is showing the wear and tear of years in service, that combined with the lobby staff lack of concern is something to be aware of prior to booking. I booked a suite and the view was nice The restaurant staff were excellent and caring. Travel to the cruise port was a breeze The Bayside Center is right across the street
