Everyone on the staff at Riviera was so kind & helpful. My only complaint is that the rooms, specifically need an update. Several lights in our room didn’t work, the shower floor looked very old and almost unclean. Other than that, I enjoyed myself very much

Loved the old feel of the property. Staff was great. The restaurante food was really good, and the bartenders/waitresses were amazing. Mini bar in the room was not stocked nor restocked durring our stay, but thats minor. Only thing odd was our building was across the street from the main office and wasnt actually staffed.

Upon arrival on the 3rd of May at around 330pm I came to check in and the lady at the desk told me I had to wait because she had to wait until the money went to billing from Expedia (the service I used to book the room). Even after showing her it came out of my bank account and I never have been told that she told me I still had to wait. Meanwhile she’s talking to her co-worker in Spanish about it while I’m waiting at the desk, I spoke to the manager who told me I was good to go and she didn’t know why I was waiting all I had to do was pay the $30 resort fee. While I’m talking to the manager the lady who seemed to be giving me a hard time came over and spoke to the manager in Spanish WHILE I WAS MID SENTENCE. She goes back behind the desk and then begins to help me get a room, I asked her why she had me waiting originally and she said “I needed to pay the resort fee) baffled I wait g until she gave me the room keys, never said thank you, enjoy your stay . I went up to my room on the third floor with my bags, only to find out she keyed my cards wrong. I had to bring my bags all the way back to reception. She re keyed my cards and off to the room I go, no “sorry, my mistake, or anything “. The front desk is the first people are greeted and will determine your stay . The lady at the desk was rude, unwelcoming and almost acted like she didn’t want me staying at the hotel

Quirky gem but has some pit falls

Great vibe and aesthetic. Check in easy and friendly staff. I was in building 1 across the street. The quiet pool was fabulous and the roof top pool on main building small but also good. The suite was large and nice as well as coffee and water in the upgrade building 1. I know it’s a beach hotel but since it is a 4 average block walk (technically 2) it would have been nice to have amenities to get a drink or service. There is a small store across the street so you could go buy snacks or drinks for by the pool. Colombian restaurant food was poor and service was non-existent with an included 20% to walk to bar to order my own meal. So much potential with free “happy hour” but it’s 1 drink and with one bartender waited 40 mins and no drink. Unfortunately for me there is a very busy club open until 0400 that half of building 2 faves combimed with parties in the suites it was so loud and ruined a great little hotel stay. I would stay again and in the suites but not facing out and hope that staff could help tame other guest.
