The room had a rusty machete by the door. I don't know if it was left there by maintenance or a previous guest. When I brought this up to the front desk they did move me to a different room. They seemed to be doing their best, but it is hard to overlook something like a large machete in your room.

older hotel - needs lots of renovations(cracks in ceiling, beds need to be replaced, bathtub had many chips on it, should have exhaust fan in bathroom) Suggest not staying in room 213. Could hear water running through pipes in ceiling panel all the time. Would be nice to have a refrigerator & microwave in room.

The room smelled old and humid. There were stains on the carpet, a nightstand with the veneer basically peeling off, and rust creeping along the door frame. The tub had a huge 8x11 patch on the side, the ceiling has paint chipping off, and the bedsheet had a pen mark. None of that is cosmetic “oops” territory. It tells you the place hasn’t been maintained in a long time, and housekeeping isn’t catching what they should. It’s not uninhabitable, but definitely below what most people expect from even a budget hotel. The kind of stay where you keep your socks on, avoid touching surfaces you don’t need to, and double-check your bags before checking out. Definitely not a hotel I will ever stay at again and will never recommend it.

Pictures online make the hotel seem in better condition than in reality. It is an old hotel that has been haphazardly refurbished. For example, only AC worked in the room, not heat, and mirror was not centered to the sink. Seems a high price to pay for 1) no refrigerator 2) no cleaning service until the 3rd night. The walls were very thin and neighbors very loud. The ice machine was not working, not well-stocked with toilet paper. The staff were fine and helpful, just not a good location.
