The Pelican Inn is a great place to stay. Walkable to downtown and the wharf. Staff is great and really knowledgeable about the location. One of the better cheaper hotels in the area and my go to when I stay in Monterey.

Other than that they was no coffee unit in the room, desire pictures shown in their listing to the contrary, as well as no hot water in the room, and the occupants upstairs doing quite the double beast back tango early in the morning, our stay was otherwise nice. The fireplace was a nice touch. Oh! And the volume was stuck to I've level in the TV. I rate the faculty 7 out of 10. I may stay there again, as the other staff was most polite, and our housekeeper most cordial

The owners are very pleasant to work with and the landscaping is beautiful. The fireplaces are a real treat. The price is very reasonable for a fireplace room.

Great price, friendly staff

This was my second stay at the pelican inn and I will continue to go there when I travel to the area! It’s convenient, close by popular places and beautiful drives. The staff is very nice. My only complaint was the power outlets were loose and my chargers fell out of them during the night. Just needs a little fix!

Meh.

Budget hotel for under $100 and it was ok. Bed was comfortable and sheets were clean. Room was fine, but the bathroom was worn and tatty... torn shower curtains, and grungy bath. The shower never got hot.... only lukewarm. Room smelled of cleaning products. Heater smelled of burned plastic.

Wonderful Stay in Monterey.

We have been to the Pelican Inn at least 4 times and each time we have always enjoyed the location of the lodging. We look forward to returning in the future.

It was smaller and quaint the bed was very hard for us. The room was larger and has a fireplace which was nice. The wallpaper needs to be replaced but we were fine with it because the peice was right

Everything was wonderful.

The man who checked me in was very kind. We were on the 2nd floor and had a view of the ocean. Great location. Room was clean and comfortable. No issues at all.

Good except for one thing

I would stay again: it had what I wanted for a decent price: minifridge, microwave, quiet room, good size bed and full bath. Also liked eco-friendly shampoo and soap. One missing thing - I chose it because I like a bathtub (there was no hot tub). But there was no plug for the bathtub (I solved that in my usual way)
