Reserved a room with balcony. Upon check in, was advised that the room was unavailable. Told me to check out the following day and check back in and I would have the room I initially booked. So, I spent one night on ground level and checked out the following day. We had to pack all of our stuff and load back to the car and take our suitcases to the aquarium. I have two kids. So after the aquarium, went back to check in and they had no record of my reservation. I advised the staff member of what had happened the previous night and she was still unable to help me. I finally got to speak to a supervisor. She apologized and told me that the balcony room was unavailable. I told her what happened the previous night and she apologized again and gave me $150 Hyatt credit. Our vacation sucked and that’ll be the last time I’ll book anything with Hyatt.

Comparing this place to the other hotels we stayed at Monterey, this place is great for kids and the pool and fireplaces were great and a wonderful experience. Loved the nature around the property and the vibes! Would recommend for business or families!

I’ve really been avoiding writing this review as I know how it’s going to sound, but… The place was extremely dirty. I mean filthy dirty. The grime in the corners of the hallway was black and obviously built up over a looong time. The grout in the bathroom was black, but when you looked near the walls you could tell it was once white. There were greasy fingerprint smudges all over the glass slider and glass in the room. That being said the sheets seemed clean but obviously other areas were so neglected it detracted from everything else. It bothered me so much we checked out after 1 night and found a different hotel. Sorry

I’ve stayed here several times before and it’s one of my favorite. This time things seemed a little run down and in need of a remodel. Walls were paper thin and we could hear our neighbors all night. Great amenities but our stay wasn’t five star like it has been in the past.
