Poor experience

Location was good - quiet and away from the busier ends of Manhattan. There was no porter service at the roadside so we had to manage our 5 pieces of luggage ourselves from a busy street into the hotel. Again we had to take the luggage to our room - no offer whatsoever from reception - we were just given our keys and shown to the direction of the elevator. We went for a larger room which was a nice size (tired decor) but the bathroom was too small for two people. Lighting in the room was very poor, toiletries felt cheap and bath towels were too small. No turndown service at night and water was restricted to a bottle each per day. We tried breakfast the first day but it was poor quality compared with the variety on the street - lazy choice of pre packed fare - fresh fruit salad was the only non packaged offering. Overall, very poor experience for the price and we won’t be back. If it was 2 to 3 star you would expect this level.

The location is excellent. Steps from Grand Central. I booked specifically for the rooftop bar, but was informed it was closed the evening we stayed. Miki, at the front desk, gave us a room with an Empire State building view when I explained I wanted my young girls to see the city skyline. She was so kind and gracious. The room (and view) was amazing and my girls also loved the toilet! Thank you!

We stayed one night at the Prince Kitano New York. It is a fabulous hotel. Modern decor and very clean. The hotel staff were very professional. It is a Japanese hotel! The bathroom was a treat. We were not able to visit the rooftop bar due to a private event. It is within a few blocks of Grand Central which made using public transportation easy. The neighborhood was clean and safe. Inside hotel itself felt safe too. We plan to return to NYC and hope to stay here again!

Stayed here for two nights, was a great location and staff were friendly, but there were a couple things we were disappointed by. 1 being the rooftop bar and restaurant were closed for a week for a private event, which was very disappointing as this is a big reason we booked this hotel and felt we should have been told during booking that this would be the case and/or offered a discount. This was only disclosed on the restaurant’s website which I noticed only when trying to book a reservation after booking a room. I also did find a lot of long hair in our shower and it was pretty clear the shower was not cleaned. That was a big turn off for us. Other than that it was a great place, staff were kind and they had free luggage storage which was convenient for us after we checked out. We would definitely consider staying again but will be making sure we have access to all the amenities we are paying for.

It was less than expected. When I checked in my greeting was, you prepaid through hotels.com so you get a standard non renovated room. Not sure why she had to say that but I found it degrading.

Quiet and clean and nice area but food options in hotel only available until 10pm and room service only during the day. Also, hate the daily convenience fee for things you likely won't use. Their breakfast area was not inspiring. Really just a solidly ok place.

Great hotel in a fantastic location

2 night stay in a fantastic hotel. Staff can’t do enough for you and the roof top bar has a stunning view. The location is excellent being near to Central station and Times Square. We have stayed before so returned knowing how convenient the hotel was and it didn’t disappoint. Highly recommended.
