This is the 2nd stay for my adult daughter and I at this hotel. We love it mainly because of its location to everything. Were there for a bed to sleep in, which thankfully is very comfortable. The tv has no signal but we were so tired from our adventures we didn’t bother having them fix it. The reception staff were friendly.

I booked an upgraded room and was told all of the updated rooms were book. The room was poorly cleaned and had an odor. I would not have booked this hotel if the room was not the upgraded one.

Motel 6 Quality at NYC rates

As I'm writing this I can't help notice the picture that came up with the hotel listing. It was so different from the room I had, I decided to look up this hotel again and see if hotels.com is using a stock image. As I reviewed the pictures, I realized this was NOT the hotel I stayed at on the website, just a fantasy. Only a couple bathroom pictures on hotels (with the pink tile and the old shabby vanity) were accurate. The rest, all AI, or rendering of what they might look like assuming a renovation. I should have taken pictures to share, my bad. That said, THE GOOD: great location, excellent access to subway, if you're going to shows or visit times square you can't go wrong for the location. The staff seemed very friendly, and many other guests clearly were staying there. The BAD: thin walls (could hear every door slam in the morning, security called middle of night for a noisy neighbor), wallpaper in the room was peeling, hallways shabby, dingy, drywall debris outside the door stayed >48 hours, just an overall dingy feeling. My 2nd day I noticed a temp construction wall on the outside that advertised Crowne Plaza, permits, and had an AI rendering, much like the photos on this site, of what the hotel will look like in Aug 2025. My room key also had the Crowne Plaza icon on the back of it among other major hotel brands. IF Crowne is rebranding this hotel, there's a LOT of work to do in the next 2 months to bring it up to standards I'd expect from Crowne Plaza.

The location of the hotel was excellent. The hotel is minutes away from Times Square. We were able to walk to Times Square . The condition of the room could have been better. The carpet was dirty and there were stains the the tub. The furniture was outdated and old. The room does not have a microwave or refrigerator and the ice machine was not working at the time. In my opinion, the rooms needs to be updated and provide better amenities for the customers. I expected more out of the hotel because of the price I paid for a three day stay. The amenities does not equal the expensive cost of the hotel.

Some floors are renovated but they used floating wood floors so it's loud, but rooms are a good side for NYC. I just wish the windows opened more than 3 inches.... what's up with that in a lot of hotels today

The hotel is under renovation. If you’re staying in one of the renovated rooms, it may not be that bad but if you’re not expect a zero star experience for a 3 star price. An elevator is broken which leaves guests waiting to get to and from their rooms and packed elevator cars. Ice and water machines are broken on most levels. Broken hair dryer, uneven floors, broken AC in the room, broken exhaust in the bathrooms, mildew smell, moldy shower curtain. Manager even told me they weren’t going to fix things since it’s all being replaced in the next few months. Once renovation is complete, it may be fine. Crappy amenities in the rooms. “Breakfast” is garbage and if you ask for more coffee, they look at you like you’re a freeloader. Staff was unhelpful. No lobby space so the lobby is always overcrowded. There are plenty of other much better hotels at the same price point.

Nice location access to everything staffing doorman was very nice and accommodating hotels in the process of updating first night was with and old room because we checked in late, they gave us a new room that was amazing in the updated part of the hotel. Make sure you reserve the updated part great places to stay.

I stayed on the 18th floor (Premium King Room), I was told this floor and up were renovated. The Room was nice and probably bigger than what I would get at most hotels around the area, staff was also amazing and super kind. I will definitely be booking at this hotel again when I come back to New York

The room did not live up to the photos AT ALL. There were LOTS of burns in the carpet, water damage everywhere, peeling paint and wallpaper… the bed was clean and comfortable, but that was all that was going right in this room. Also, our phone didn’t work. They DO have signs up that they’re about to renovate and I hope they really are because this place needs it.
