We came for a three night stay. At first it was great, we were so busy with a family wedding, we spent very little time in the room. On the third day, wedding was wrapped up and we had more time to chill. A storm had started and Tofino lost power, so no fault of the hotel. However other hotels have a back up generator and this one seemed to have no back up plans. So we literally sat in the dark all night until sometime in the middle of the night when the community got the power back on. When I went to get an update from front staff, they were rude. They didn’t put a sign on the front door, yet yelled at me for opening the front door and said I should use the side door. I didn’t even know the side door existed. They didn’t have any information to give and were rude when I asked questions. They wouldn’t allow me to check out and get a credit for the last night. They wouldn’t offer any information on where we could go to eat dinner that might have back up power. And they were annoyed that I was asking any questions of them. There’s very little cell service at this hotel, so we relied heavily on the hotel wifi, but when that went out with the power outage, we had no way to do any research ourselves. So don’t book this hotel when there is a potential storm or power loss because they aren’t prepared. Up until the power loss, it was great.
