We did enjoyed the place. Nice, quiet, clean. A lot of facilities like a pool, squash, golf course. But the waiting time at the restaurant was horrible ! We waited for so long (1 1/2 hour) the waitress (who was verry nice) deceided to give us the meal free of charge. Thats a verry nice place to stay but we had a verry bad expérience with the restaurant. I hope they will solve this problem.
In past visits, we have always had a lovely experience at Mill River resort. However, this visit we were disappointed in a couple of areas. The bed was much less than comfortable and it felt like we were sleeping on cardboard. The restaurant food was very basic and lacking creativity/flavor. There were also stains on the ceiling and dents in the walls.
They say they are pet friendly but they don’t really let you have your pet in a many of the common areas so it made it more difficult to enjoy our stay. We had to have breakfast on the lower patio which seemed like they banished us to basement… the meals come one by one and it was well over an hour before the last one came. I wouldn’t recommend to families with dogs…
The resort is beautiful and the golf course is amazing. We have been here several times. Unfortunately this time the food quality and service in Callaghan’s restaurant was not great. Service was very slow and the quality of the food both at dinner and breakfast was not great. Breakfast was particularly bad
This was a high quality resort with great amenities, we enjoyed the pickle ball courts and the scenic views.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
I would stay here again. The staff are excellent. The facilities are MUCH better than a typical hotel, but not necessarily better than other fitness-oriented resorts like the Kingsbridge Centre in Toronto, for example. The gym is needs a squat rack or hack squat / leg press combo. The sauna is not very hot. The games room was in rough shape (e.g. some games out of order, basketballs coming apart). The rooms are comfortable (e.g. high quality beds) but showing their age. In our room the sink was badly chipped and badly repainted, the windows didn't open well, lots of marks on the walls, etc. The central coffee machine was broken while we were there. And on the website it said there were bike child trailers available to borrow but when we arrived we were told there weren’t anymore, which was frustrating. But all that said, it is a lovely resort. The kids loved the water slide and the forest trails are long enough for a morning almost-5k run. We will likely go back next summer. I hope they fix some of the above issues by then.

Spent a lovely 3 days here. Comfortable beds! Breakfast was great. Staff were helpful. They even let my son sign a soccer ball out for our stay to use. Can’t say enough about this place!
Great hotel, nice and clean with friendly staff. Had a lovely facial at the hotel lobby as well. The only negative was the hotel restaurant---it was only about 1/3rd full but our order to 40 minutes to arrive, and when it did it was wrong! Plus the served the world's smallet smoothie for 8 dollars! Would definitely stay at the hotel again, but wouldn't go back to the restaurant.
