We had a very disappointing experience at this hotel, particularly with a staff member named Albert. As tourists, we don't speak much English and struggled to communicate. Instead of assisting us, Albert was rude and refused to help, which made us feel unwelcome. Thankfully, someone from the kitchen staff went out of their way to assist us, and we greatly appreciated their kindness. Despite trying different translation tools to communicate, most of the staff were dismissive and unhelpful. This made our stay unnecessarily stressful. Hospitality is about making guests feel comfortable, and unfortunately, this hotel fell short in that regard. We hope they can improve their service but we will never come back.

We loved this DoubleTree facility for the wonderful location at the Berkeley Marina, impeccably cleanliness, excellent on site restaurant, and very comfortable beds. The pool, hot tub, sauna, and work out areas were also well maintained.

Just an okay stay.

The hotel staff was excellent. Check in was good and the restaurant staff was also good. The bathrooms need to be updated. Poor lighting, tub that should have been replaced awhile ago, and a drainage issue from the floor(s) above us. I don't think I will be back, there are lots of other hotel options in Berkeley. The staff was very good when I told them of the bathroom issues and showed pictures of the tub and drainage problem.

The rooms are good if a little dated, and some are quite nice. We were originally assigned to a rather loud room next to the elevators but were easily switched to one with a patio door and view of the marina. The lobby and bar are gorgeous. It was a nice stay!
