Very disappointed. The property is gorgeous, the staff at check-in were kind, the resort has a lot of interesting amenities and the community is full of things to do. However, our room was a total wash.
We were given a room on the first floor of building D. Our balcony view was obscured by a bush and garbage can. Beyond those objects, all we could see was the basketball court. We never got natural light as we had to keep the curtains closed for privacy.
The common hallways have a strong echo, and unfortunately the floor is made of stone. We heard every single roller bag and maintenence cart from our room, even while laying in bed with all the doors closed. We often felt vibrations when trying to sleep. Every day, other patrons would arrive to their rooms late at night from the airport (or barrel in drunk from the bars). Then, maintenence would start their rounds early in the morning. Most nights, it was only truly quiet between 1:00 am and 7:00 am.
Lastly, the shower design is very clunky. The shower curtain is too short, and the shower floor is not wide enough. Water splashes outside of the shower, almost hitting the toilet on the other side of the room 1.5 meters away. The provided floor mat did not help. Potentially a tripping hazard.
