The building is very old and appears to be possibly undergoing a major renovation the room was very clean and quiet until the workers next door started at 7am everyday, but the staff where excellent and very friendly, the shower was ordinary a hand held nozel but the beds were very comfortable, no restaraunt at the hotel but plenty of dining within a short walk, overall was good would stay there again

Although the general state of the hotel was quite dated and worn the room was fine, comfy bed, plenty of hot water and secure. Staff were helpful and courteous whenever I asked a question. Housekeeping staff were friendly and pleasant. Location was good, walking distance to public transport and shops bars etc

We often stay at the criterion,as its convenient when needing an often late stay before flying out to work the next day. The 11am check out works well for us. The rooms are nothing flash but always clean and comfortable enough. The only thing I'd say is pack your ear plugs because it can be a little noisy stay over after flying interstate back to work

The room was clean, which is the most I could ask for. Very old and outdated, and this was meant to be the renovated room so I'd hate to see an unrenovated one.

Room as clean but very old Only one chair in room and were told couldn't get an extra one. Not a proper wardrobe for hanging clothes. Location was excellent close to shops and transport.

There was black mould on the bathroom ceiling and a damp smell in the reception area. There was a bucket that looked like it was collecting water on the stairs. I probably wouldnt stay here again. The bed and sheets appeared clean.

This hotel has seen better days however for a short stay it is conveniently located, has 24 hour reception, luggage storage facility and friendly staff. And it is cheap.
