As a solo traveler, I often choose Motel 6 for their affordability. This Tempe location was particularly good value, with a great location, new renovations, swimming pool and quiet room.

Check in was good, the desk clerks were very friendly. Our room had been recently renovated. The large freezer/mini fridge was very much appreciated and in good working order. The bathroom and the room were clean, although there were nail polish stains on the wall and desk. Unfortunately our room smelled like an ashtray. We were offered another room, on the third floor, which we turned down as I didn’t want to haul all my gear up three flights. We made due with an air freshener. It was good value for the cost. There are restaurants within walking distance along with a very large Goodwill. The only thing I would say is to please, for the love of Jove, please hang a piece of artwork, photo whatever on the wall. Seriously, with everything painted grey, it looks like a cell.

The staff good. Which is one of the reasons it does not all make sense. Hotels.com rates here as a good place and also has non factual information in there listing regarding breakfast. Also pics aren’t what they seem. Needs adjusting.So it starts with hotels.com by misleading its customers with pics that are outdated and out right lies about breakfast and some other things that have not been verified or updated. Again is a complete violation of the public’s trust in your service that hotels.com will give show or spread misinformation about lodging and or the area of the company it’s selling for and not being diligent in staying on top of the facts. Yes that is what it is really about for me and other families to want to have and know prior to putting there money and trust and families safety somewhere by making a reservation based on pics or possibly non verifiable reviews about a property that is not what it says or shows it to be. In reality it’s about them getting money and business first then the facts. Backwards. Building is run down and lighting is inadequate not safe for stairs or little children. Housekeeping sucks. So nice staff equals well.. we are nice but don’t really show our care in how we let the rest of the place run down. Yelling at night loud no security that I seen in five nights or maybe on vacation. And lots of drug activity. So again just another greedy hotel in phoenix area that’s run down from drugs greed and lack of maintenance.

I had a very disappointing experience at this Motel 6. The front desk staff was extremely rude and very difficult to understand, which made communication frustrating. To make matters worse, one of the bathroom towels in my room was stained with blood. When I called the front desk to report it, the staff member could not understand what I was saying and offered no help or solution. This was unacceptable and made my stay very uncomfortable.
