The location is perfect. The hotel is very pretty, the beach view with the infinity pool is absolutely stunning. The hotel food was overpriced and not good at all. The reason I deducted some points is because the first night there the AC was not working, they sent someone to fix it (which they did) and we thought that was it but an hour later it broke again. At the lobby the gave us another room for the night until someone could come in the morning to fix it, which in the end was resolved. Another issue was with the elevator. There was a power outage, which cause the elevator to stop as security measured, nothing against that. My complaint is that it took us 15 to 20 min of walking around and asking employees until someone could point us to the stairs because apparently the stairs are only for staff.

you can not classify this hotel as a 4/5 star hotel. The construction is very cheap. It definitely lacks the Hyatt Standard Upon coming back from dinner, the beds were practically cold and humid to the point of being wet. they changed us rooms, however in the new room there was no kettle to warm up water, no tea bags, no cups. and the worst is that the bathroom door was defective in order to open it you had to wake up the whole row of guests with the noise it made Thr manager got it repaired the next day while we were out. Also he gave us breakfast for free and did not charge us for our valet parking. the service personnel at La Cocina restaurant provided excellent service

Grand Hyatt Playa Del Carmen is an outstanding place for your vacation in Mexico. It is located in a very central and action filled area. There is a large amount of stores and restaurants in the town for dining and shopping. The staff at the hotel are very friendly and the property is overall nice and clean. I would highly recommend for anyone to stay.

Pros: Beautiful beach, beautiful pool area, close to lots of restaurants and shopping, staff are generally fine. Cons: Rooms are a bit tired, beds are not overly comfortable, food at the hotel is brutal. Quality is not even remotely in a five star category. That was a view shared by anyone we spoke with. Drinks are fine, nothing special.
