Very disappointed

We checked in for one week as a family of 6 with two rooms. The rooms are Mediocre at best. In the week we were there house keeping “cleaned” the room twice. By clean I mean made the bed and left clean towels, failed to remove dirty towels, garbage or sweep and mop the floor. They would knock on your door everyday and ask if you needed anything and when we were fed up we said yes clean the room. The bed sheets felt as though they were filled with sand. When we asked for a late checkout they told us we would have to check back the morning we left and if yes it was half a nights rental to check out at 1 and 2 was a full night rental.

I stayed in a “drive up room“. A fancy name for a motel room for a high price.Dirty room. Old windows that wouldn’t stay up and didn’t have screens on them. There were full of bird poop. Dirty rusty heat registers, coffee machine wasn’t cleaned and floors weren’t swept. Not acceptable for a room at that price.

The hotel is much bigger than it appears outside. Very clean, great breakfast, Shopping within walking distance. The restaurant however was closed when we were there which was an inconvenience. We booked a suite but the layout, which means the only bathroom is upstairs where the beds are - didn't work for us and we ended up having to book a second room for one of the couples. I would defintely stay here again but would not rent the suite, and would ask if the restaurant was going to be open.

With limited properties in Charlottetown at the time of our booking, we went with Rodd Royalty. Not sure if every room was like this but the power outlets in our room only worked when the lights were on. Made it very difficult to re-charge after a day of navigating on the phones. Another quirk was that the inside was a converted outdoor hotel. So our room had a window to the hallway where the light was always on. The curtains blocked only so much of this light so our room was extremely bright and it was very difficult to sleep.
