The property was very nice, and well connected to a very large overall resort, so we were able to go to neighboring properties if we wanted to. The main thing we didn't like was the huge amount of seaweed that is constantly washing up on the coast. It makes it so you can't really get in the water, although many did, but it has quite an offensive odor. I realize that this is no fault of Bahia, however, there was a resort right next door that seemed to do a lot better job of keeping the seaweed away from the beach.
There are many options for eating; some great, others not as good, so you have to just kind of try everything and see what you like and what you don't, but the food was very good overall, and there was a ton of variety.
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
Some of the things are unorganized, but I feel like that's just the DR way. For instance, transportation is very vague. From the time you land, you better make sure you have already made a direct connection with the resort in order to line up transportation. Also, if you do any excursions, make sure you get on the right bus to go back to the resort, because they'll just let you get on any bus you want, and they don't all go to the resort you're staying in!
The final thing I'll say is bring lots of cash in small bills. They expect to be tipped everywhere you go, all day long, and I was not quite prepared for that. You don't have to tip a lot, but just be prepared for that.
