I stayed in the hotel for six day and we loved it. It was clean, beautiful, people were very friendly and respectful. Service was great. The view is the most amazing view of Big Ben and the location is the best.

Most of the staff encountered were pleasant and helpful EXCEPT the guest service person with long blonde hair. There are unsafe and poor lighting issues. If I wanted more lighting I had to pay more money for an upgraded room. Don’t let photos of bright rooms fool you. Was told hotel had been open for 15 plus years and never redecorated. Dark red carpet and black plastic looking doors and walls with creepy huge faces of women staring at you…terrible lighting. Very, very small ceiling lights scattered about. Two bright lights in one fixture attached in ceiling over the bed…terrible for reading. Same lights over the desk. No operating instructions for the lights. Elevator dark…floor dark with teeny tiny multi color lights around the perimeter of the floor and parts of the ceiling. Guest service lady didn’t seemed concerned about the lighting issues regardless if someone had wet macular degeneration which she knew nothing about. In addition to saying the decor just wasn’t my preference. She offered three options…pay more for an upgraded room to get more lighting and one king size bed…unacceptable. Refused extra pole lamps saying it was probably a safety hazard. Offered to have safety employee check lighting in the room. Employee checked room and advised extra lamps wouldn’t help. Next day was given a complimentary room with twin beds, a sofa bed and windows…but same lighting and decor. However, elevator brighter, floor brighter, ceiling lights on.

Crossing The Pond

We truly enjoyed our stay, it was right in the heart of things and we could walk, bus or train if needed to get around. Uber or Cab works as well. The staff was very friendly and met all of our needs. The only complaint my wife had was about the lighting in the bathroom was not bright enough to apply makeup….. Would stay there again the next time we travel to London.
