Magical place

Ragged point is a magical place. This was the first time we stayed in the cliff house and we loved the master bedroom. The grounds are beautiful and the onsite restaurant and coffee house are great. We highly recommend Ragged point and love that they allow dogs.

Service lacking, location is not

Walked in the lobby to ask where the restaurant was to have lunch. A younger gentlemen greeted me with “Rooms won’t be ready for another 20, is there anything else I can help you with?” I turned around and walked out of the lobby and located the restaurant myself. Excellent. Waitstaff, excellent. View/ambiance, excellent. After lunch went to check in and luckily the younger gentleman was no longer at the desk. Praise be. Easy check in, went to room and it was a nice, clean room but it also overlooks the Pacific Ocean. It’s truly a 10/10 location, and if that younger gentleman wasn’t employed there as a customer facing person that has to use their mouth to communicate. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling up Highway 1

The room was very spacious and clean and the bed was comfy. It was very quiet too. The only drawback was the balcony - it was so tiny! You could barely fit 2 people on it.

I enjoyed my stay. The only problem was the snack bar was closed and on 4th of July they had no Barbecue ribs, only tri-tip, which was good, but I would have preferred ribs. Also they were out of Ribeye steak for dinner. I’m not complaining, the stay was great. I’m just pointing out a couple things that I thought was a bit puzzling to me and possibly a planning issue on the part of the staff.

A Sanctuary of Beauty, Love, and Vision — Our Deep

We celebrated my fiancée’s 40th birthday with a romantic 4-day getaway at Ragged Point Inn, and it was pure magic. Nestled on the cliffs of Big Sur, this place is a portal — peaceful, expansive, and deeply nurturing. We used the time not just to rest and celebrate, but to reflect, dream, and map out the next two years of our life together — our wedding, our businesses, our future. The food at the restaurant was absolutely phenomenal — every dish made with care, and the coffee drinks and baked goods? Unreal. We looked forward to them every morning. The entire staff was warm, welcoming, and attentive — it made the whole experience feel even more special. We now call this place our little “Deep Love Dojo” — a sacred space to return to again and again when we need to reconnect with nature, with each other, and with ourselves. Thank you, Ragged Point, for being the backdrop to one of the most meaningful weekends of our lives. We’ll be back — many times.

We loved our stay at Ragged Point! The property is beautiful and very self contained with a full restaurant and coffee shop on site. The staff were friendly and welcoming. We had Sunday brunch and it was wonderful and their coffee bar was amazing! Highly recommend!

Amazing first solo trip!

This was my first solo trip, and I had such an amazing stay! I'll definitely be coming back! It was nice not having cell service and just detach from everything. The staff was welcoming, the food was delicious, and the location couldn't have been better. I brought my furry little friend along, and we had the best time exploring the coastal trail together. It was the perfect mix of relaxation and adventure.

Fantastic place to stay on the south end of Big Sur. Very pretty grounds and great views. Oceanfront, though the trail down the cliff to the ocean is very challenging.

My room had an amazing view of the ocean just as described, I didn't want to leave the balcony. Wonderful bed and fireplace completed the package. Also a nice dinner at the restaurant.
