What you see is what you get. Cool property right on the water. However, we were quite disappointed that our fireplace didn’t work as designed. We lit the firewood around 10pm and our room filled with smoke, as the smoke refused to vent out through the chimney. We inspected the fireplace to see if we had missed a step or had failed to open a vent but there was nothing we could see. What we had hoped to be a nice stay turned into a what seemed to be an oversight of property maintenance. We could live with that. What we weren’t ok with was that when we shared this with the front desk, we received no apology and they used the often tired excuse of “well, you should have told us when it happened.” Um… no. Not at 10pm when we had already gotten cleaned up, we’re about to open a bottle a wine and were winding down from driving all day. We weren’t about to move rooms or worse, have a repair man enter our room at that hour and subject ourselves to an undetermined amount of time that the repair would have required. Do better, Cavalier.

The hotel is on a cliff right by the ocean. You cannot beat that! The construction is outdated but everything works as it should. The property is clean and staff is very responsive. As with any property by the ocean in this area, expect some windy times and dress accordingly. The Restaurant’s food has a good breakfast menu and all we order was very good.

Pet friendly, great staff, restaurant on site. Convenient location, great views from most of rooms. I have stayed here multiple times and recommended to friends. Check in is at 4:00pm but my room has never been ready at 4:00. Frustrating. Fridge in room usually doesn’t cool so plan ahead. If you want a nice view you will pay a small fortune for the room. There are much less expensive rooms so the choice is yours. Overall I always enjoy my stay and love walking around the grounds and on the beach,

We love this place for its rustic charm and location. Nothing fancy about it but it’s comfortable with extra touches such as fireplaces and beautiful grounds. Rooms a bit dated and could use a bit of an overhaul…but it works for us. Stayed here several times and the staff are great!!

The inn rooms need a little updating. The bathroom needs major renovating with a quieter toilet flush. However, my experience on the hotel grounds was great. The hotel is in an excellent location. The staff were very attentive and put effort into giving their guests the best experience.
