Rooms were dirty, furniture was old and missing parts of cover. Room smelled like water got in and mold. Tried to save money which backfired, ended up staying at The Cavalier which manages the Sands. Staff was awesome and accommodated us quick and easy.

Sands by the sea is always such a nice experience. The hotels are clean and comfortable. I love the walk down to the shoreline.

this is a basic room. Wish the TV had a better line up and the toilet was a little taller. The room did just what we were after.

Probably won't book again

Hotel was very clean. Check in was a bit of a wait and crowded in lobby. The outside fire pits were nice and the view is beautiful. Although some some of the other guests seem to think it's "only their" fire pit. There's a good amount of chairs at each pit but people don't seem to want to share the space. Also The room have paper thin walls and the people next to us made a noise complaint on us when all we were doing was talking in our room no tv on no music on, just the four of us chatting it was a little late bit it was only 10:50pm so when I say paper thin walls I could hear people snoring in the morning. Also the people who complained had a total of 8-9 people in a 4 person room so maybe I should have made a complaint on them. Also the person who came to our room regarding the complaint was super rude but my husband was polite to him and we just went to bed after that because we weren't going to deal with any kind of drama. If you like to stay up late on a Saturday night this is NOT the hotel for you.

I love this tiny little beach town of San Simeon. This is definitely a beach motel, but it’s clean and very convenient. We parked right in front of our room, which was so nice. The water in the shower got pretty hot which was also nice. The outside area of this location is great, there’s the beach behind with fire pits and a sand volleyball net. There’s a few restaurants in town which are basically all within a mile. It was just a nice stay. Super quiet and peaceful.
